Cliffs:

guy applies to a bank, and wrongly claims he already has an accepted offer somewhere else
word spreads, and he will never be working in the industry

LOL, this is just the kind of story that could go viral. Unemployment, looking for a job, and what not to do !

I would bet that Jimmy Kimmel or Jay Leno's producers would consider getting this guy on the Air, if he would agree to it.

Is that TripleB?

A cheat and a liar trying to get a job on Wall St... what an outrage!!!1!

Looks like the phony email was just the tip of the iceberg. In fact, if not for all his other shenanigans, I bet that Wall Street would have been willing to overlook the phony email if he was good at his job.

swandown said: Looks like the phony email was just the tip of the iceberg.i saw his uncensored resume this morning, but can't find it any more...the censored one has name/adress/phone # etc. edited out..

lol... t.u. graduate

He's a friend of a friend, from what I've heard he's not an idiot but definitely a weird guy with issues telling the truth even about minor things.

narshe14 said: from what I've heard he's not an idiotYeah, he seems to be a triple-major or something

This d-bag says he's an eagle scout. I'm ashamed for him.

Only one employer left for him; the government.

I want to be his facebook friend.

like how he did both Harvard summer 2009 (Boston, MA), and work at Gulfstar in Summer of 2009 (Texas)

As many have said: Wall street is a very tight knit community.

Mcringring said: A cheat and a liar trying to get a job on Wall St... what an outrage!!!1!

The real reason he was blacklisted is because he wasn't clever enough not to get caught. Had he really been worthy of working on Wall Street he would have set up phone numbers and post office boxes that were monitored by real people who would vouch for him. This is how people like Bernie Madoff succeeded for decades with his pyramid scheme. Outright lying on a resume is strictly amateur (grin).

Epic fail.

of course

they are sitting there to screw us

The Harvard program is only one week. Next question.

Well BAML turned him down and they are still government.

Isn't Wall Street primarily composed of lying, scamming douchebags? I think that Mr. Chiang would fit right into the Wall Street community if he were a bit smarter and ensured he could not be caught doing things like this.

also #22 in google trends. his career is DEAD

Can someone post it someplace besides Deal Breaker? I cannot access that site from work.

Contributed 100% of tuition and living expenses for all 4 years of college with scholarships, loans and multiple jobs

Wow. Good job "contributing" those student loans. I bet it took a lot of effort to sign them and then get the government to pay.

I would absolutely hate to be in his shoes now. In this day and age, all HR personnel are typing in names into Google just to see if anything juicy comes up. Such a shame..all those years wasted, even if they were spent cheating. I'm sure no company wants the bad publicity that comes with this guy.

He could legally change his name, but still

he put fantasy football on his resume? i guess that looks better than world of warcraft

I like the 5K marathon!

It's also gonna suck for every other "Jeffrey Chiang" out there in the future, and there are many. Especially if they are in finance. Just a quick glance at linkedin: http://www.linkedin.com/pub/dir/jeffrey/chiang

Gonna have to put a note on their resumes saying "No, not THAT Jeffrey Chiang" next to their names.

Grizybaer said: he put fantasy football on his resume? i guess that looks better than world of warcraft

I put Level 80 Holy Priest with full tier 8 gear on my resume. It lets recruiters know that I am a team player and willing to facilitate other members of the guild... er company.

Why does someone even include "Contributed 100% of tuition and living expenses for all 4 years of college with scholarships, loans and multiple jobs" on their resume?

xoneinax said: He could legally change his name, but stillIs the name Mike Vick taken?

Up to #7 on google trends!

There's a lot of stuff on that resume that usually makes me think "pass" when I am sitting on the hiring committees.

Why would someone collect so many bachelors degrees? And with so many degree he showcases intramural football?

Might be OK if you were going for Rhodes....

Yes, but fortunately the name Ron Mexico is still available.

Wall St folks don't like to be lied to...but once you join the party, teamwork is all about lying together!

joking!

Just found this thread - one has to be stupid and lazy enough to let it happen.
Though you don't have to lie on the interview to fail it. Here is a few short videos - very funny.

A guy sets up a fake office so he can understand how to succeed in job interviews, the results are some of the funniest (and informative) job interview tips I’ve seen.
