Looks like the phony email was just the tip of the iceberg. In fact, if not for all his other shenanigans, I bet that Wall Street would have been willing to overlook the phony email if he was good at his job.

The real reason he was blacklisted is because he wasn't clever enough not to get caught. Had he really been worthy of working on Wall Street he would have set up phone numbers and post office boxes that were monitored by real people who would vouch for him. This is how people like Bernie Madoff succeeded for decades with his pyramid scheme. Outright lying on a resume is strictly amateur (grin).
Isn't Wall Street primarily composed of lying, scamming douchebags? I think that Mr. Chiang would fit right into the Wall Street community if he were a bit smarter and ensured he could not be caught doing things like this.
I would absolutely hate to be in his shoes now. In this day and age, all HR personnel are typing in names into Google just to see if anything juicy comes up. Such a shame..all those years wasted, even if they were spent cheating. I'm sure no company wants the bad publicity that comes with this guy.

It's also gonna suck for every other "Jeffrey Chiang" out there in the future, and there are many. Especially if they are in finance. Just a quick glance at linkedin: http://www.linkedin.com/pub/dir/jeffrey/chiang
Gonna have to put a note on their resumes saying "No, not THAT Jeffrey Chiang" next to their names.

I put Level 80 Holy Priest with full tier 8 gear on my resume. It lets recruiters know that I am a team player and willing to facilitate other members of the guild... er company.
Why does someone even include "Contributed 100% of tuition and living expenses for all 4 years of college with scholarships, loans and multiple jobs" on their resume?

Wall St folks don't like to be lied to...but once you join the party, teamwork is all about lying together!

Just found this thread - one has to be stupid and lazy enough to let it happen. Though you don't have to lie on the interview to fail it. Here is a few short videos - very funny.
