I couldnt find a thread but curious if anyone knows which banks let you open an account with CC Funding. Particularly an AMEX, since I need to qualify for an incentive.

I just did Alliance for $995 but think it was V/MC only.

Your title isnt helpful without "CC" before funding. Indeed I would add "AMEX CC" to be specific.

I just submitted my application to Charter One and I'm waiting to hear if I'm approved. They took first deposit through c/c.

Charter One Bonus

I did it with Citibank for $3500. I even used a Citibank Credit Card. Basically took money out of their left hand, put it in their right, collected the bonus, and paid back the other way.

Thanks US Govt (I mean.. Citibank)

I funded two new Citibank accounts with $6300 on my VISA card--$300 for a new checking account (with $100 bonus offer) and $6000 in a savings account to avoid checking account fees.

I'm also interested in finding banks for AMEX. As for Visa/MC, I usually use Agriculture FCU and PenFed.

Very risky with many banks now switching over to processing credit cards as cash advances. When I opened a Bank of the Sierra account by credit card and it was treated as a cash advance, I thought it was a slim chance given previous experiences. However, there have been several other reports of this happening with different card issuers and accounts in the reward checking thread. There was a $200 (4%) fee and 30% finance charges tacked on for this convenience, no points.
