Has anyone seen the commercial for or heard of Chase Ink yet?

Is it another credit card type to compete with the big 4? The commercial was boasting how it is accepted more places than Am3x.

I think Chase has turned into a very customer-UNFRIENDLY company as of late. I don't think I'd get involved with any of their products until they can figure out what they are doing. Hopefully they'll get it sorted out soon.

Based on the recent changes to their other cards, there is a moderate chance that the Chase Ink card won't last 9 months before they pull it.

Chase (like etrade) sucks.

all my business cards have turned into ink. i think it is their compliance model for 2010 laws..

Chase isn't setting up its own new card network, if that's what you mean. The Ink cards carry a Visa or MC logo. The comparison to Am3x is because they know that Am3x has a large market share in the business-card market.

Looking into the Ink Plus card to replace my Marriott Rewards visa and Citi Plat AMEX when the fee comes up.. Free first year, $60 after that, free Priority Pass membership with 2 free annual visits (including the cardmember AND a guest), and VERY flexible payment terms (they call it Blueprint). Looks like you can set categories to be paid in full each month, and those categories are not charged interest.

The rewards program is pretty standard, 1 pt/$, they advertise flights as being 25% cheaper than AMEX rewards (ie, a flight that would cost 35k AMEX points costs 28k Ink points). They say "transfers to many hotel and FF programs", but none are specifically listed.

Edit: Apparently the Ink "Ultimate rewards" program is the same one that Chase Sapphire uses. I guess Chase is trying to consolidate a "Thank You" style program for all their cards? More info is in the Sapphire thread.

It looks like "Ink Plus" might be a cheaper alternative to "Sapphire Preferred", at $60 instead of $95.

Ink Bold has price protection!

Wonder if it is an Infinite visa or just a signature.

I figured that out after the post. I was apparently only half-watching the commercial but I didn't see any Visa or MC reference.

I just got an offer for the Chase Ink Business Card with 0% for the first 6 months and $50 after using it once. I don't have a business but I'll take the free $50.

It appears my Chase Business card has become a Ink cash and my wife now now has the Ink Cash card (replacing the Professional card).

Apparently the points never expire. This makes it more valuable for us. The 3% on certain categories including office supplies and hardware/home improvement type stores is higher than other cards offer (restaurants and gasoline are also in that category but my CITI Forward cards pays 5% for these and other cards have provided more on gasoline). The previous rules on a Professional card with a 2 year maximum I led to our family losing some points since the spending on preferred categories was relatively low and had not added up to enough for a reward. With the Discover Open road card going on gasoline from 5% to 2%, this card could pick up gasoline spending (at least after a promotional 5% from the CITI AMEX is over).

Now a strategy of using this card for these categories and other cards elsewhere may eventually add up to something (if they do not change terms again as they did on the Freedom). For certain businesses, these 3% categories could add up (landlords, contractors probably spend much in home improvement stores, office based firms need office supplies and many such firms spend on restaurants for entertaining). With the right spending pattern this makes the card look more attractive.

The Blueprint payment terms might save you some interest. Although we normally pay in full, I signed up for Blueprint in all categories since if something happens and it is not paid in full (oversight perhaps), the card could still be used for these categories without incurring interest. If we ever do decide to use the card for borrowing, the Blueprint feature could reduce someone the total sum interest is paid on (as well as permitting one to continue to earn 3% on certain categories).

In this case, it looks like Chase did improve the card.

CitiForward does NOT give 5% on gasoline. Only books, movies, restaurants and music. They also raised the redemption level from 2500 to 5000 (Chase). IMHO, Chase Freedom w/ checking account is better than Chase stINK cards.

I believe visa infinite is not available in the U.S.
