I don't think so either, but that's the latest official number we have (released today). I'm sure some of those 80M+ shares traded on Friday were shorts covering. Still, there's got to be a significant amount of remaining shorts.
Funny they didn't mention the group. Anorexics for the annihilation of the fat people? who knows! but I don't put much stock into it. here's a better article I like:
I contributed 15% to ARNA last week when MMs made the stock free fall for 2 minutes to scare the sheeps out. Hate buying cheap stocks because they can burn you so quickly.
Also related to that 'consumer group' I am getting reports they might be orchestrated by the same central person who was ousted from previous 2 adcomms.
there are far more consumer groups that are PRO arna and they have been busy writing letters to FDA and forming coalitions. guess we will see tomorrow.
@foeplay: ouch, hope you didn't lose too much. I saw a guy post who got his stop then sold for 2 bux less than where his stop was. hope you didn't lose a lot, i'm basically flat on ARNA, on good trades vs bad trades this year. Unfortunately I didn't enjoy that nice run up. But hopefully I will tomorrow. In 500 shares.

I think you can offset with only $3K loss per year.
How is someone so ignorant about one of the most well-known aspects of capital gains taxes (allegedly) trading in the after-hours market?

I think it will start to run 2-3 weeks before earnings.

Just was super annoyed because right after that plunge it steadily went up 2-3 bucks a share.

I think it will start to run 2-3 weeks before earnings. i think today's aapl trade is on the news that they are successfully blocking more samsung products (their chief mobile HW rival) from entering U.S. market on patent disputes. I wonder if there is a play where they eventually dissolve their OEM relationship and APPL goes somewhere else. AAPL would probably like to, but Samsung has cutting edge screens, semi, etc.

You must have lot of patience. I see that it went below 14.5 after you bought 3500 shares at 16.xx
I'd say its moreso I refuse to sell anything for a loss. So usually, if I get stuck in a stock going down, I just have to sit. For instance, I am STILL underwater 5k on AKS, I bought in at mid 8's, and its now mid 5's. Even paying a small dividend while waiting is better than any bank. Sure, I had my moments where I thought I was making a mistake and was depressed about it. My biggest mistakes are getting out of stocks too soon; I can get to -5k on a stock, but once I see +1k, I just wanna sell and move on. chaddi said: retirebyfourty said: OUT of Unisys (UIS) today for 2k profit. I was reading on another forum some guy says he lives 1 mile from ARNA offices in San Diego and he drove by this morning and saw them setting up a big white tent in the parking lot, presumably for an approval celebration or press conference...
Another guy said he called the receptionist at the company and he said he is delivering the wine for the party this afternoon and needs to know where to drop it off exactly. She told him not to come until 4pm Pacific and look for the tent in the parking lot of said address, then call her when he arrives.
I'm sure both are fabricated but gave me a nice laugh.
