At her local supermarket, she ran up a bill of $267.23, before her coupons were added. But After coupons? One cent. She managed to save $267.22 on one trip. It would be interesting to find out what is the most amount, in percentages, that you saved on average at your favorite supermarket using the methods that she described.
Like I said in the thread that uutxs alluded to, these types of purchases were commonly posted in the FW Grocery forum before it was deleted/terminated/removed/86ed.
But that was a long, long time ago

The problem with America is that we're raising yet another generation of mollycoddled, teat suckling, life handed to them on a silver platter generation. What is this nonsense about spending money to feed children? There's no excuse for children not to pay their own way. It's never too early to send them to work. How old do you think that the Gerber baby was when that photo was made? Now there some smart parents! I'll bet that kid grew up with a heckuva work ethic.
edit: no, I was barely off me mother's back when they stuck the tin cup in my hand, the man started playing the barrel organ, and told me to 'look cute'.
By and large, these coupons are all for the middle of the supermarket.... whereas all the healthy food is on the permiter. Good luck living healthy off of frozen pizza and mac&cheese.
I see in the shots of her cart...frozen pizzas, sugared cereals, puddings, etc. Her pantry isn't particularly great, either. Varying quantities of sugar, salt, and more sugar.
These are tough times, though, and produce isn't exactly the cheapest thing in the world. Financially admirable, but I can't say her family is eating the healthiest items...
