Excel has this built in.

If your using 2007, click data, from existing connection, ms money stock quote.

if you are using Excel 2003 (or older), you may need to find/download the add-in from Microsoft.

Probably exactly what you are looking for... I really shouldn't reward such lazy, need help with homework, don't know how to google behavior -but there ya go.

OP, just setup some dummy stock portfolios on Yahoo Finance or some other free stock reporting service. One advantage of that is that you don't have to input stock price updates to know where you stand.
