Which HSA is better

Hi,

This year, we are looking to go HSA route for our medical.

My wife is looking to get HSA from her employer, who contributes into Chase HSA.

My kids and I are looking to get HSA from my employer, who contributes into Wells Fargo HSA.

Given that a max limit is $6150 for the family for the contribution, I want to put minimum contribution in one account and the balance in other.

Wondering is someone has done any comparison between Chase and Wells Fargo HSA accounts and can provide guidance as to which is better option between Wells and Chase to park the HSA contribution.

no one will do this for you - look at the costs and % rate paid by each one and make the decision based on your circumstances. I had chase - they were fine - but charge a $3 / month account fee which bugged me so I have moved to stanford cu.


Not surprisingly, neither Chase nor Wells Fargo is even worth considering. Credit unions are far more consumer-friendly. As bNeta86 mentioned, consider Stanford CU, as well as Alliant CU and Connexus CU. BTW, the maximum family contribution for 2009 is $5950; it jumps to $6150 next year.


check this thread for better options than those you mentioned.

I could see you getting a better return on investment by opening a third HSA at Stanford...

If you get family coverage from your employer, doesn't that mean that your wife is also covered by you plan? I'm not really sure why you would want or need to have her also get seperate HDHP coverage.

Are yout trying to get both in order to get extra employer money contributed by your employers into your HSA account?
