Discover savings account drops its rate again!! in: Subjects › Deposits

I just noticed today that Discover Bank dropped its savings to 1.73. In the 6 weeks I have had the account, it has dropped from 2% to 1.85% to 1.73%. I'm feeling cheated.

HSBC dropped the rates too. All the banks are paying in the same vicinity (1.5 to 1.7%). These banks offer stinker rates to attract customers and once they get good investments, they start dropping the rates.

You're free to move the account to another banking institution with higher rates.
