I'm really surprised to see Idaho at 46. It probably mostly Boise that is dragging down the state. They've had massive layoffs at Micron and other employers and participated more than any other Idaho city in the housing boom.

I went to orlando in dec of 2008. The shopping malls looked miserable. Alot of closed stores. One mall I went to had mostly closed stores with only 3 or 4 small stores staying open. SAD!

Sounds like you went to festival bay mall.... Those stores weren't closed.... they never opened. Festival bay from the start priced themsevles out of the market (during the good times mind you) and wasn't able to attract tenants.
