Hi,

Can you refer some good agents or company serving the California bay area for auto and renters insurance based on your experience or knowledge about them?

I'm with Allstate currently and they increased the next premium without any reason. Looking to switch.

Thanks

I'm not eligible for USAA.

What other options?

hows ameriprise?

Ameriprise is not good, see the other threads.

I know some good agents in the bay area. Depends if you are looking for lowest price, best coverage, best agent responsiveness, etc. Its usually a tradeoff and you need to decide which features of the insurance are most important to you.

I'm thinking of lowest price given how bad the economy is.

Please give me some choice as well... want to move from allstate.

Huh? I just gave you 2 choices. They are the lowest in CA for auto and renters.

Call them and quote it.

I have never heard about ANPAC before. Are they good besides being cheap?

Give me some more good ones and not necessarily cheap ones.

Thanks for your help.

You said you wanted cheap. Now youre changing your mind. Go waste an agents time, not mine.

Just an update on my insurance quotes:

Statefarm and Ameriprise are nearly the same and is cheaper than wawansea (10%) and its equal to my current allstate premium.

Allstate increased my premium 20% for next renewal for no reason

Progressive,Geico,Liberty mutual, Safeco were all coming very expensive.

Looks like I will choose between Statefarm and Ameriprise.

I'm unable to get online quote from ANPAC (agent wants me to talk on phone to quote)

I will keep updating and thanks to all for responding.

So call them, they are not going to try to hard sell you or anything. They will just ask for the same information the online system does and give you a quote. It is possible that you can even get a lower rate over the phone as the agents will work a little harder to maximize any discounts you might potentially get.

I will definetly talk to anpac agent before finalizing the decision. I have never known ANPAC before. How good is their overall service and perception?

Thanks

Wawanes and ANPAC best rates are for people with no claims history

you just revealed an accident here

so these arent the best insurers for you

I do have one not at fault accident. But wawansea gave me a reasonable rate thats slightly higher than my current premium. They give quote if you have not more than 1 violations/accidents.

Is ANPAC like wawansea?

One thing about wawansea is its 12 months premium and they dont accept credit card payments.

They take MBNA billpay so you can use your BofA/MBNA cc to pay, and they offer numerous installment plans

Liberty mutual is quoting excellent premiums, cheaper than statefarm and ameriprise. Costco is offering $50 cash card for gold members if you sign up with ameriprise before 11/29.

I will take a decision in the last week i guess.

I would like to know how liberty mutual is compared to allstate and statefarm.

Thanks
