Did you fund with a credit card or another bank account? Thanks.

I opened this a while ago to get the bonus and I have been unable to generate the DD necessary to trigger the bonus. E-Trade, Prosper, some other accounts transferring in do not work. Even though it says it clearly in the fine print, I originally figured that outside accounts would probably still work.
I'd rather not do a traditional DD through my work, so if anyone finds an alternate DD which works for this account and triggers the bonus, please post. Thank you.

An ACH push of $150 from my FNBO savings account triggered the bonus

Seems like NYC is a no go...
We apologize, but you are not able to open an account because you live outside of our market area, click here to locate a branch near you.

Sweet! I'll give that a try. Maybe the amount of the E-Trade push was too small...I only pushed in about $50. Thank you.
If you select the Go Rewards account with all online options you get 10,000 bonus points on the debit card. However, the points are pretty much worthless unless you accumulate 23K or so to get $25 gift card...
PS: You can't fund with a credit card at brick & mortar as they will use cash advacne for the transaction. This may be common knowledge for many of the FWF ninjas but I am kinda new to this and just wanted to contribute.

How long does the account need to remain open to avoid early-closing fee? Any monthly min balance requirement to avoid fees?
FREE Online Banking and Bill Pay** FREE Identity Theft Protection*** **Online Bill Pay is free when you pay at least one bill per month online. ***Free for six months. See bank for details. Member FDIC
So, is there a fee if not using online bill pay at all? Does ID Theft get billed automatically after 6 months?

It clearly said "* To qualify, customers must initiate a monthly direct deposit of $100 or more."

And I clearly said, "Even though it says it clearly in the fine print...." Many checking accounts I open are similar in what they consider a DD to be. And many checking accounts pay out their promotions when I push in money from an outside account.
Has anyone checked their credit report for a hard pull? Or do they use Chexsystems?

I live 25.1 miles from their branch and I am "outside their market area". How close do you need to be to one of their branches to be within their market area?

Off-topic but I just ordered a new cell phone contract with T-Mobile and got a hard inquiry on Transunion. Could anyone tell me if this is usual? (Sorry but first time order a new contract) Thanks
I'm in... funded 1K on my new BA card. I notice that the temp autorization ($1) is on the purchase side, not the cash advance, so I hope that'll stick. If I get nailed with a 3% fee, that will pretty much kill the deal for me. However, if it works, the 1K limit is pretty nice, maybe open a savings too.

I signed up online on Friday. Funded $1000 with AMEX blue cash, counted as a purchase. I do not have online access yet, but you can call their 800 number to setup phone access. I am ACH pushing $101 from HSBC, hopefully that will trigger the bonus.

For those that funded with a CC, how long did it take for the initial deposit to become available? I do not have online access yet, but have been checking my balance via the automated phone system. My credit card was charged on November 30, but the amount is not available to my account.
