It looks like the Trans Union settlement that gets you nine months of free credit monitoring is finally going somewhere. According to ListClassAction.com: "E-mails explaining how to begin receiving credit monitoring benefits will be distributed to eligible Class Members December 2009 through February 2010."
Looks like they kept this part of the bargain. They said that they would start sending emails December, and I received mine at 12:01 AM this morning.

Registered and used. Score the same as CK. Cumbersome interface. It's not anything like the myFICO interface.
Also, I have not found a way to view hard/soft inqs.
.. one other thing -- you'll be looking at a dated credit report, unless you click "Update report" link in the "related items" section on the right near the top and go through a bunch of "are you sure?" confirmations. As far as soft inqs -- I don't see any either (but they used to be there when I was accessing my TU report via TrueCredit some long time ago). IMO, absence of softs creates for incomplete reporting .. I might contact TU about that some time later to see if they want to provide 9 months of complete report viewing, not partial ...

Thanks. They act like they have to pay for each soft. Weird.

Thanks, I couldn't find where to get an updated report. On the first page, they make it seem like they are updating your information when you log in.

The score you get is the same as the free score at Credit Karma. Worthless junk.
Why does it ask for my social security number along with my confirmation number? Seems like transunion should already have that information .. I'm not real thrilled about having to give up my ss#.
They are mailing me a code so I can view my credit report because I can not remember what my credit limit is on a credit card I might have opened in March 2007. I am a Fatwallet member and have countless credit cards and have no idea what date I opened them or what the exact limit is.
Credit Card Limits Your credit report indicates that you have a Bank credit card that you opened around March 2007. From the choices below, please select the credit limit for this account. $2504-$2834 $2835-$3165 $3166-$3496 $3497-$3827 NONE OF THE ABOVE
I got my settlement email in December 2009. I just signed up for the free credit monitoring service today.

Next time something like that happens, go to annualcreditreport.com, get a free credit report, and look for the appropriate one.
I often don't remember the answers to those kind of verification questions. I would have failed many of those tests if I didn't keep a copy of my report handy.

Let me get this straight: The settlement award is the ability to view countless pages of TrueCredit advertising, with the risk of accidentally clicking on an ad and transferring all of your personal data to a third party advertiser?
Sounds to me like the defendant won.

I am using my TU account now, but have been unable to log into CreditKarma to confirm it is the same as that. If so, this is crap. The attorneys should be dis-barred.
