Citi raises their cash rebate threshold from $20 to $50 now. Does any1 still use the citi rebate cards? How do you fight/get the cash rebates for the cards with balance under $50, which you may not use them anymore since the promotions were ended?

At least for the last 3 yrs, my Citi CashBack threshold's been $50.

Just politely ask if they will apply it to your next account balance.

My Citi Dividend card always had a $50 rebate threshold, going back to the days when it paid 5% on some things and 2% on the rest. I now only use the card for utilities and the occasional supermarket or drug store purchase (all of which are still at 2%) and use my Schwab card (2% on everything) for the rest, so I'm accumulating a lot fewer rewards on this card now. I typically only bother to request a reward once per year at the end of the year; I think it was around $98 for 2009.

We opened so many Citi Cards when there was a promotion. Citi did automaticlly send us the rebates once it reached $20 several years ago I recalled resulted in 4 of cards with balance <$20 for more than 3 years. They sent us three checks for <$20 for our three cards after repeatingly requested. However, it's difficult to request the rebate for another card.
