Thank You. Repped. This is going to be very very useful for my wife. I think she can get enough info here to start her Masters.

How interesting! I even found lectures from the author of the textbook for my upcoming Linear Algebra class. The professors weren't rated very well for this course at my college, so this gives me some peace of mind that I have some alternative lectures to help. Plus, other random potentially interesting lectures to boot! Thanks, OP.

Also, check out Itunes U. There is a lot of good material uploaded from some very good Universities around the country.

That is great. It helps comprehension so much to hear a book's author explain her/his concepts in lectures.
Yes, even in my 5-minute skim of the site, I found classes by some authors of assigned books I had to read in my MBA.
This could be a great adjunct to anyone's studies.
I hope that it will be accessible to lots of people around the world who can't afford an advanced education (or even to buy textbooks), and who are interested in certain subjects.
I also think it could be a good way for high school seniors to check into what subject they want to major in in college. They could view classes in the various fields and get a much more realistic idea of what that major is going to be like to study. Especially if you didn't have a subject in high school, it's hard to know beyond basic stereotypes what it is like to study at university level.
Please pass the information about this website along. It's wonderful that it's free and has so much cooperation from many solid institutions and academics.
I almost don't want to go back to the site (scared that I'll spend WAY too much time with it) because I am the type of person who enjoyed taking "X subject 101" in lots of far-flung subjects! Physics, biology, sociology, art history, history, etc. [However, I don't think I'll be joining you in that "Linear Algebra" free course -- it's all yours! ]

This is one of the very good ones, The Khan Academy is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) with the mission of providing a world-class education to anyone, anywhere. I like the craigslist type course layout:
