Well, I appreciate the contributor(s) of this thread, and as I already stated I give (and have given) blood (O type) as often as they permit one to give double, but I get truly appalled by the gall and outright lies that are perpetuated by the multi-billion dollar (USD$) red market. If individuals are permitted to give testimonials about how awesome and how many people in the United States of America, or wherever, are saved by the blood 'donated' by other individuals and so on and so forth, who are you to determine that someone is not permitted to give a quick factcheck in regards to how ridiculous and completely incorrect the statement is since the majority of the blood that is SOLD in India is from the United States of America. And no one can say they give more blood than me because I give the max that is permitted for double red cells. But I do not delude myself with grandness; the stuff is sold as a commodity to India (or other).

I don't have anything to offer here only a BIG THANK YOU to YOU. You are the type of people who saved my life (complications from chemo last year - extremely low on red blood cells). YOU also saved my friend's life when she mysteriously lost almost 9 pints, YES 9 PINTS of blood over a short period of time. We are both still here and it is thanks to YOU.
I would like to give my heart felt gratitude for all who donate blood whether on a regular basis or whether just for the free tickets...
You see I was a kidney transplant recipient in 2007 and developed a very rare reaction lymphociteanemia in lay terms my blood was "spontaneously com-busting"... in a matter of a week actually about 5 days from what I was told I needed 17 pints of blood before they figured out what was going on and how they could stop it.
Before this happened my husband would donate blood every once in a while when he thought about it or when he had a chance but after seeing first hand what/how blood could save someone's, anyone's... a loved ones life, donating blood suddenly became a mission for our family. Not only has my husband been faithfully donating blood on the regular schedule they will allow, but now my two children 20 and 22 also do the same. First it was just about paying back what they had so kindly given me to live, now it is about just giving something so simple that cost nothing to allow another to live.
Again... I say Thank You... from the bottom of my heart!
