Make our world safer and get these companies to start making natural products that are safe for us. To
many people have cancer today. Let's get a stop to it....
Actually, the fact that this might have an artificial fragrance should be the least of your worries. You should be concerned about the statistics that show that sunbathing increases ones risk of skin cancer, tanning lotions offer no protection whatsoever. Fact: Too much exposure to sunlight without sunscreens to protect, increases ones chance of getting skin cancer. There is a direct correlation between sun exposure and skin cancer, and too much exposure to sunlight is a leading cause of skin cancer. Fact: There is a correlation between the use of certain chemicals and artificial fragrances. But there is no conclusive evidence linking most of the common ingredients used in consumer products to these specific chemicals. Correlation does not equal causation. The risk of cancer from using this product is not because of any artificial or chemical ingredients, but because of unprotected sun exposure.
Again, this comes down to FW'ers being adults capable of doing their own research and making their own choices without you nagging them on nearly every thread. FW does not need a Net Nanny repeating the same "chemicals cause disease and the manufacturers only care about profits" mantra. I'm sure the members signing up for this freebie are well aware of the risks of suntanning, but ultimately it is their choice. It is their choice (and ours), to smoke or chew tobacco, eat junk food, to use whatever personal care, beauty, health, cleaning, etc products they want. It is their choice, not yours, not mine. You get red because people are tired of you nagging them, so please take your OT screeds to OT, start a thread and post links. You might get some like-minded readers who have concerns. People might actually listen. Nobody wants the rants here, and they simply don't belong here. Or you could do as one OP suggested, after you posted a rant in her thread, write to the company who makes the product you are ranting about, since it is they who can change the product.
