Does anyone have any experience with this?

I have been using this service for about an year now without any major issues. It is fairly reliable, but you must receive at least one call each month to keep your assigned number. This can simply be a call from your cell phone that you let ring through the full fax tone cycle until it automatically hangs up.

Signed up just few minutes ago and sent a test fax. Not impressed with the quality at all. But free is free so green for your OP.

It looks like we might be able to just leave a voicemail to keep the same number:
"If a K7 number is inactive for 30 days (use is determined as a voice message or fax message to that number) , we will terminate the account for non-use."

There may be some security/privacy issue when they recycle the numbers.
common scenario:
Due to carelessness, you lose your number to someone else. so Your fax will go to someone else...

Careless = you messed up..
Like everything in life, if you mess up, negative consequences can occur.

I've been using them for a few months now. Decent service that works every time. If I could get on a spam fax list, that would help w/the 30 day activity requirement.

Been using it for years and this has been posted numerous times before. Never had a problem with it. I just put a reminder on my calendar to call in and leave a message at least once every 28 days to keep it active.

I too have used it for years without a hiccup. I have a calendar item to send myself a efax every month. Hard to beat this free service. I have tried another service which I can't remember the name of...it would spit out your email of the fax a couple hours later. K7 spits it out without any delay (though these are usually just one page faxes).

been using them for a few years and they've been great. i dont get many faxes, so i note in my calendar the day the last fax was received (as i prefer to keep same number). if the 30 day limit is coming up, i just go to www.faxzero.com and send something to myself.
bikerbandito said: "If a K7 number is inactive for 30 days (use is determined as a voice message or fax message to that number), we will terminate the account for non-use." If you want a free incoming fax number that won't get canceled, get an eFax number. I don't receive a lot of faxes and my eFax account works well for me. I've had an eFax account for six years and I've gone six months without receiving a fax, but they never canceled my number. eFax lets you receive your faxes via email and view them online. From the eFax FAQ:
eFax FreeŽ is a limited account. When you sign up for eFax FreeŽ you get: * free online fax * a non-local fax number * the ability to receive 10 faxes per month (you cannot send faxes)

Just signed up, and chose the fax only option so there would be no greeting. Worked great.. sent a fax and got it as a TIFF in my email in seconds.

I chose the fax and vm as it is easier to call and leave message every 30days than to send fax, to keep it active.

Be careful that nobody faxes you sensitive information, like a form containing a SSN. Point to point fax is much more secure than email.
To keep the number alive, just sign up with a restaurant that faxes take out specials each week.

Interesting offer...green for you. However, unless the sender is in the local area served by the assigned number, they will be charged long distance fees to fax.

Does someone know of a service where they can send me one fax every week or month. That would keep my service alive. I am too lazy and I don't think I will be able to keep this acocunt live for long.

Non-issue really. 99% of those who need just an occasional fax do so because they MUST be on the receiving end (sender policy forbids email transmission). This beats having to give my work fax # where it gets sorted by other employees who might view and gossip about my personal things going on.
