This is so much better than someone posting 50 threads a day to keep them on the leaderboard. Nice work.
As an aside, I find it very hard as a guy to find free or cheap books that interest me.

Ok I guess I got carried away. I got 23 of the free books. The best thing is if I don't like them I just delete it and move on to the next book. Thanks!!

There's no shortage of variety in the daily free offerings but finding stuff that's interesting and actually good can be tough. You can click "Look inside" to see the preview, which will tell you if the author has made an effort to proofread/get an editor; for some genres it is not a necessity to make a good book but it still tells you whether effort was put into it or not. If they didn't try to produce decent grammar then they probably didn't try to produce a decent story or decent information.
Of course, for spending a couple minutes reading the preview you could just as easily click "buy" and decide for yourself later. The only downside: Whether it's a turd or a gem, you still contribute to sales volume and search placement.

I've been grabbing those free Kindle titles which are also available for sale in print form, paperback or hardcover. Probably miss out on a few decent free titles. In return, I get some assurance that editors, publishers, and proofreaders have winnowed out some of the worst stuff.

In return, I get some assurance that editors, publishers, and proofreaders have winnowed out some of the worst stuff. That trick doesn't work anymore. There's now a self-publishing print option. The next step was to look for something with used print copies, but the sellers have caught on to that trick too. Oddly enough, self-published (and therefore often non-edited non-proofread) ebooks offering dead tree editions seem to have the used price much higher than the new price...so there's still one trick left up our sleeve.
Example (and please note that I'm not commenting on the quality of this one, just using it as an example that demonstrates the concept): http://www.amazon.com/Vandalism-of-Words-ebook/dp/B003ZYFCY2/ Kindle: $0 Paperback: - Amazon price $8.95 - New from $8.94 - Used from $19.95
Perhaps the extra money pays someone to read it first.
As an odd side note, the description says "I should point out that this book is only available in electronic formats. The reasoning is that no trees are destroyed in the process. No chlorine, bleach, potassium or nuclear material is dumped into the environment as a result of paper manufacturing and therefore I have a much clearer conscience."
