360 sign-up was much easier. PS3 sign-up was a bit of a hassle but the layout is better with less wasted space,it has bigger images and descriptions.
I'm not sure what I'll do with this $5 though. Save it to rent Ted?
I don't think you can purchase HD movies and only can rent them. I might buy Pursuit of Happyness in SD but not sure it's worth it to really do that when I can buy the blu ray for not much more $.
Is it registering the PS3 itself or the account on a PS3? I did mine a long time ago, but I have another PS3 in the bedroom that I haven't loaded Amazon VOD on it.

There's no code. At the last screen after the Amazon PS3 signup process, the banner says "A $5 credit has been automatically applied to your account." If you check your gift card balance, it shows up under your Amazon Instant Video credits. Expires on 12/31/2012.
