I did the promotion and for some reason my code actually gave me an error message. I talked with regular Amazon customer service who were unsure and told me to try Scott's for a new code. I tried Amazon's mp3 specific customer service and they were able to take some guesses as to why there was an error. Hopefully it doesn't happen to anyone else, but they were able to fix it and get me the credit. Just make sure to talk with the mp3 specific people (unless it all goes down the same tube in the end and I just got lucky the 2nd time). Thanks OP for the find.

Same with me! The Amazon chat staff first told me they couldn't/wouldn't help and i would have to contact Scott. Didn't even ask for code. The second customer service rep from Amazon took my info and disappeared for over five minutes and said my code was already used by "Candy somebody". WTH???? I found this very suspicious since the prompt should not have been an "entry code" error but rather an "already used" error which I have gotten before there. The cs chat person said they opened an investigation. When I later tried to contact Scott about this via chat window that glitched out as well from my status being: "1st in line for next operator" to "chat not found w/ error message/"

Major fail! Now I am worried about the security of my Amazon account as I have a substantial gift card balance there.

The same thing happened to me. The code did not work. I have contacted staff at Amazon, but have not heard back yet.

I got a code, but got an error when entering it. I did the online chat with SCOTT and this is what they said:
I apologize for the trouble you are having with the promotional code provided to you. We are experiencing technical difficulties with code acceptence at this time. If you would like, I can follow up with you via e-mail once we have a solution to the problem.

As a followup, the second person noted that they think Scott's was having a problem with their random code generator. Make sure to talk with the mp3 people over regular and if you get declined, maybe talk to a 2nd or 3rd person. It's not something you did with entry, they just aren't creating codes properly so occasionally you might get a code that someone else used. It was still a slight guess on their part, but hopefully that helps some of you get the credit quicker.
