From what I can tell, the 3.x version appears to be spyware free as my scans have not turned up anything. Also, their EULA appears to be clean too.
After reading this thread and seeing that the 3.x version was out, I decided to check it out and found that it works just fine on my system. Previously, the older 2.xx versions would not work on my system and their support was next to useless. So I had just about given up on them.
Now I see they finally fixed a number of bugs that the older versions had, thankfully. |

Well the thing is I had the same problem with my digital subscriptions not coming anymore. Well a few still come every month or every week but most stopped. What I do is go to the list the the OP first posted and every month I just click the link of the mag. I want the latest issue from and I type in my email and password and it downloads the most recent issue. Thats just what I do to get all the recent issues to all the mags I want. Hope this helps some people out. |

Well, I have the same problem, only one magazine keep coming, I guess zino only allow one free subscribtion per account, so the last one you subs will keep coming and all others are automatically ended.... |

Edit: uhh...nevermind, they are working now...maybe it was Zinio doing some kind of update. |

Yeah I just got an email this morning that they released Zinio Reader v3.0 so maybe they were doing some site maintenance.

my zino just stopped working due to a licensing issue??!! I can log onto their site just fine with my id and pass, but when I try to open up a magazine, it says invalid license.
SO I just uninstalled it...but would be nice if anyone knows what happened to cause that invalid license thing. |

My guess is that there is something wrong with your license files, they are stored under C:\\Documents and Settings\\<Your User Name>\\Application Data\\ContentGuard
Your best bet is to reinstall Zinio and go to your account and re download the magazines....or recover a backup on that files. |

Nope they are definitely full subscriptions. Just got an email advertising free PC Magazine for 1 year (22 issues) at the above-posted link. All of the other "subscription" pages are identical. It is confusing because it says download your first issue now, but if you note the text below it, it does say "Thank you for subscribing" and .. "To begin receiving your issues"
i got an email saying that the first issue of this magazine is here, or something?
dont theyship it the address they send you?
this whole digital magazine thing and shipping address thing is confusing the hell out of me..
anyone want to explain?
You get a reader similar to acrobat .pdf software that you download. Then the magazine becomes available and you download it. It's ok. No problems.
I understand that you might be able to convert to print media later |

hadji said:Have you updated to the new Zinio Reader 3.0 yet? I was having problems with the last months issues, so I checked out Zinio's site and stumbled acroos the new version. Perhaps you need to have it up and running to get the latest issues? I love my digital mags. Saves on trees and I don't have to find room to store the dang things.
Has anyone had any problems / issues with the Zinio reader on their computers? I have occasionally had poorly behaved applications cause problems. How's Zinio?
Also I have a 500mhz computer. Does it make a difference in the ease of readinga magazine if the computer is slower than a new one?
Lstly I need to say there's nothing like putting the magazine in your bed so you can read it over and over finding things you missed before. Can't do that easily with a computer. I like print.

just print and choose acrobat as the printer if you have that installed. |

It's actually tougher than that or easier depending on how you look at the problem.
I assume that cheuntauzu means if you have the Adobe Creator then you can print to it. Whats' the price like $250?
What I use to print adobe files is a great program that's worked flawlessly on a 500mha amd computer called
PDFCreator
It's free and works fine. Be sure to read up on it and study it a bit before calling it quits. There's a few small considerations to 'consider'.
also do a search for PDF creation software or similar. There are about 3 products that all purport to do the same thing. So be sure you get the one you're happy with. And uninstall the old one before you try the next one.
I can recomend PDFCreator with excellant results every time.

Somewhat off-topic, but WTH.
After bumping into this thread, I realized with some amazement that I had not received a copy of PC Magazine at home for something like 4 months (I get lots of computer mags, just didn't notice it was missing from the foot-high stack every month ). Called ZD and they confirmed that my subscription is still good through 2016 (yes, 2016---thank you internet free mag deals), but oddly enough, their system showed my account to be "on hold." Neither the CSR nor I could fathom any reason for this. Baffling. Subscription has been "reactivated" now.
Anyone ever have that happen? |
