After bumping into this thread, I realized with some amazement that I had not received a copy of PC Magazine at home for something like 4 months (I get lots of computer mags, just didn't notice it was missing from the foot-high stack every month ). Called ZD and they confirmed that my subscription is still good through 2016 (yes, 2016---thank you internet free mag deals), but oddly enough, their system showed my account to be "on hold." Neither the CSR nor I could fathom any reason for this. Baffling. Subscription has been "reactivated" now.

Anyone ever have that happen?

2016? How do you do that?
You keep adding renewals to your subscription at a rate faster than 1/year and the effect is an extension of the subscription?
I didn't know that was possible.

Awesome, thanks!

Btw - has anybody noticed, that sometimes it seems as if their subscriptions expired? Like I'd get 4 issues of PC magazine downloads and then they would stop? I have to click on the link again to get them started...

The only consistent subscription for me is the US News.

Yeah, that happened to me several times. I kept calling and getting the print version reactivated, but it wasn't until I had to call ZD a fourth or fifth time that I got a CSR who knew exactly what was going on. Here's the deal: If you have concurrent print and digital subscriptions of PC Magazine (or any other ZD title, I suppose) going to the same name and address, and you then signed up for another free year of the digital version (as I have over and over, to the point where I have subscriptions to both versions going through 2024 ), a bug in their computer system can cause the print subscription to automatically go "on hold".

Of course, they're happy to turn it back on for you and make good on the missed print copies, but the only reliable solutions to the problem seem to be one of the following:

A) Change your print subscription so it goes to another address (have it sent to your workplace, for example);

B) Set up a separate Zinio account, using a different email address (and preferably a different name and postal address as well; hey, it's Zinio, so why do they need a physical address anyway), and use it just for your PC Mag signups. (The problem here is that the Zinio software can't handle more than one account, so you'd need to set it up on a separate computer as well.)

C) Stop signing up for even more free 1-year subscriptions.

I chose option (C), mainly because the last time I called ZD (when a print copy just got lost in the mail), the CSR had to manually override something in her computer in order to even access my account ... my expiration date is so far into the future that she couldn't even edit it!

As info, you can email Zinio to combine downloads of magazines from different emails to one pc.

Is just a sample with the first chapter...at least the one for Genetics.

Bump! This is still alive!

BTW - you can easily take advantage of this and get years of free magazines.

how can one convert this subscription into a hard copy type subscription. Thx!

Are the PC World and Computer Shopper subscriptions only for one Magazine or for 12 months?

hi, seems my free subscription to Business Week digital version is limited to 3 issues only

does anyone have the same problem? how can I fix this?

thanks in advance!

You can't fix it. Every two or three weeks their computers figure it out and remove you. But then you can just sign up again.

Business week no longer works for me, Anyone else getting the same thing?

I am afraid is gone for good...

Thanks OP. I don't mind reading these on the computer instead of in the bathroom for a change. I just wish I could upload these to my decrepit Palm

Well ... in theory you could print to PDF and then use a PDF reader in your palm....but probably you need a better than decrepit Palm to make it usable.

Has anyone figured out how to open these files without using the zinio reader.

You rock man, thanks for keeping me hooked on business week ^_^

So anyone figure out how to change digital sub to print sub for business week? When i click the link it asks for subscription number..obviously i dont have that..

How long is the BW subscription for?
It keeps expiring every 3/4 weeks and I need to sign up again!

Thanks for the post.
Zino 3.0 works great. I stopped using Zino a couple of years ago. It always crashed on opening.
The magazines look great on a 1680x1050 monitor

I once got a free digital subscription to MacWorld via Zinio after re-installing OS X from scratch.

Apparently, the re-format, re-install, and re-registration caused my machine to be identified as "new," so I got a free sub.

Has anyone figured out how to get a free digital renewal to MacWorld? Any coupon codes or other discounts?

only Pcworld and Bussiense week can be changed 2 print...not EGM or any other..

Here's another freebie, The link said it was a six issue subscription of a SPANISH bimonthly magazine, but the first issue I downloaded was Sep-Oct 05! The cover page also says "free Sample" (in Spanish); don't know if the other issues will show up.
