I wont go that far but I like the new look I also like gmail to

Wow, not bad at all. Gmail is going to cry.

Will be better when they start supporting firefox. Also the options of viewing by threads would be neat. I just opted out since i dont want to be running wine everytime i have to check my hotmail.

worked for me, thanks, it gets kinda cramped on low resolution though

Didn't work for me. Everytime I click on 'Join Mail Beta!', it takes me back to regular Hotmail. I tried clearing cookies/tempfiles/etc without luck.

-Zip.

Nm..

Just visit Windows Live and you can sign up many other Windows Live Services. There is a direct access to sign up for Live Mail! Hope this is helpful!

Thanks! worked

I signed in to my hotmail account first, and then copy and paste the url.

Looks nice!

Thank you.

1: I copied and pasted it and was immediately taken to the "Windows Live Mail Beta" page where I could accept or decline.

2: No sign in prompt

3: It did work. I didn't need to paste it again. I selected "Join Mail Beta" (no "Participate").

4: I don't see a difference.

What am I missing?

Don't understand all the hype, its just outlook interface into webmail. Almost all companies have this interface for their webmail these days

thanks op it worked for me! Call me old school, but I do like having the check boxes next to each e-mail....

Worked like a charm. Thanks OP

Worked for me. Thanks. I am trying to do the same for my wife's email as well. Doesn't work for some reason.

Awesome stuff, thanks OP!

No Firefox so no way (plus I own my name in Gmail )

Green for you anyway, OP..

Worked. Thanks OP.

However, I think my junkmail is much more in hotmail...???

Are you sure about the 2GB part, I don't see this anywhere.

Iam I missing something?

Thanks OP! Worked like a charm.

Go Here ---> LINKY and click on "How much storage do I have". Even though you can't see the size limit, it should be 2 GB according to the faq. Hth-

Login your yahoo mail. You can either access it from the front page on the right it should say "try the new beta" or you can go into the options on your acct and you'll see it at the top of the page "try the beta". Say yes and it'll log you out and then back in w/ the new interface.

I've tried it and decided to undo it for several reasons.

1. Firefox is a no go.
2. St@ples mails (and others) are pre-formatted, and live mail will cut off part of it for the MS ads. No resize/scroll bar option for those emails.
3. If there is a spam email and you want to delete it from the inbox, you will have to drag it to the trash/spam box. However while you drag it the email will open and mark as read.

Overall it has a nice GUI but not much different than the old hotmail system in terms of the features.

It worked just like OP said, thanks ... will try it out... may be one day I would want to go back to Hotmail ... if they give more features then GMAIL

Skipping 113 Messages...

Just an update for those of us who did this. It seems like MS has updated Windows Live Mail for some compatibility with Firefox. As of this morning, the page was formatted correctly, I could actually "reply" to messages, and save messages to my folders. This was all unavailable before. There are probably more compatible features but I haven't looked for them. I was getting really frustrated with it before these restored features.
