If you have a Facebook account, type in and search for "APPLE STUDENTS". The results page will show up with about 2 pages of results. There is a specific sponsored group with the "Apple Students" title. Click on that. Once in the group's page, click the box that displays information about the free CD. You'll recieve a note from Apple (in the "My Messages" section) with the code to enter, as well as the simple steps needed to access the music.

This is the first day that the songs have been "advertised" on the site so you might want to send a message to Facebook about the error and they can talk to Apple and fix the error.

Think you need an .edu email address for this to work. OP please confirm.
I clicked on the 25 song Cd icon...but these songs are like unknown...not worth the effort.

Worked for me. I haven't heard of most of the bands, but I'm always willing to try something new . Thanks OP!
BTW, I do think that you need a .edu account to get onto Facebook.

Totally worth the effort I think. Not all the songs are good, but most are decent and some are awesome. You can go back each week for 10 weeks to get a new code for a new sampler of a different genre.

ya, this is going to be great! i love new music, the free itunes song each week is alwasy good.
and ya, you need a college email address. but, there is a way to get it for highschool if you get a referral. however, for the high school facebook accounts you dont need a .edu email, i had one with a @yahoo address. i didnt try, but i sure you could still get it the code if you are only a highschooler.
~mikeb THANKS OP!

I am a high school student and I am able to get a facebook account and I got this code to work, the music is pretty good. Also, I dont have an .edu address.
You do NOT need to have an *.edu account to get a Facebook account. Also, you do NOT need an invite in order to get a Facebook account. Having an *.edu is the easiest way to get a Facebook, but there are two other ways to get an account that are only slightly more complicated:
1) When you click the Register link on facebook.com, you will see a field called "Type:" with a pulldown menu that reads "What type of network do you want to join?". Choose "Work" and enter your work address. It may work or may not, depending on whether or not your employer has a deal with Facebook. (You can also click here and then click on the individual letters of the alphabet to see if your company is on the list.) Note that I don't know whether or not these "Work" accounts are allowed to participate in the Apple promotion. Someone here will need to register a Work account and report back.
2) Anyone can do this one. From the Register page, choose "high school" from the pulldown menu. When you do, a new "High school:" field will appear underneath. Just start typing, and a list of high schools that match your letters will show up as a popup menu. You can pick one of your local high schools or one a thousands miles away, it doesn't matter. From this point, you can use any name and email address you want. The only thing you must do is insure you enter a birthdate that would match that of a current legitimate high school student, roughly 1988-1992. (If you screw this up, you'll need to go into your web browser's cookie list and delete all Facebook cookies before you can try again.)
Once you have your account, go to the following URL and join:

glowworm said: I'd consider that fraudulent. Then don't do it.
Choice 1 is 100% unquestionably legit. Your work email address will only be accepted if your employer has signed up with Facebook.
And choice 2 is only "fraudulent" if you think Apple is the company requiring people to jump through all these hoops in order to get to their Facebook discussion group in the first place, which they're not. Facebook is the company that requires all this rigamarole, and they're not doing it to stop people from getting free Apple goodies. They're doing it as a quick-and-dirty way of "screening" people so that a student at School A can't go peeking around in School B's discussion groups. That's it. Facebook required this silly sort of registration before the Apple promo started, and they'll convinue to do it after the Apple promo ends.
Apple couldn't care less. This is about record companies doing viral marketing.
