*BTW, it's just a freebie not an opening for an argument about peta
Just a WARNING! PLEASE READ through the comic books that are part of this package before ordering for your child (.pdf files are on the site). These aren't happy cute stories. I'm not making a statement other than for you to KNOW what you are ordering. Christmas could be a traumatizing event if you don't understand what you are putting in your child's stocking.
These aren't stocking stuffers, these are attempts to shock kids into becomming animal rights advocates. Give them if you want, but be prepared for an upset child and a lot of questions that you won't be able to answer.
I have in the past given money and support to PETA, but after looking at this, their donations will go to my local SPCA.

I was worried it would make vegetarians out of the kids and I tossed the stuff.

Sorry you are getting slammed (even with your disclaimer) for posting this freebie. (Same thing happened when I posted about the free PETA stickers they offer.) The fact still remains that its a valid freebie so for that I'm going to give you green. For some reason this is a major touchy topic on FW and instead of people just bypassing the deal they have to go outta their way to tell you they will be not taking it and give you red.
I understand mentioning that the comic books are very graphic. Some people may not know that and it doesn't hurt to have a warning on here. But its when it gets to a debate about personal opinion on vegetarians or the peta organization... yikes look out!

Why shouldn't kids know what they do to animals? Its a fact of life. Understandable if they are small but eventually when they get older they will find out on their own.
It makes me very sad to see the level of FW stupidity arise from a freebie of this nature. IF YOU DONT LIKE IT PASS ON IT AND TAKE YOUR POLITICALLY CHARGED RED MARKS WITH YOU.
The rating system is meant to rate the availability of the freebie. PETA stuff ALWAYS comes. Green then. If it didn't come or is a scam, RED...
snivel, snivel.. Gee... LET IT GO YOU GUYS... RELAX... It's worse than listening to the out of control little whining brats in the supermarket.

I agree BUT when they hand out photos of bloddy dead chickens to kindergardeners, it makes me wonder about their agenda. The comment out checking their "kid stuff" first is a very good idea.
Green for the OP since this is a free deal. I don't agree with PETA and their methods though.
My sister would always have the "PETA kids" on campus trying to get her to join their crusade. She'd get plenty of the "Pigs are Friends, not food" stickers. Since she was an art major with a sarcastic sense of humor, she took them, copied and modifed them, and handed out "Pigs are Friends, and tasty too!" stickers. Next time the "PETA kids" stopped her with their sales pitch and stickers she said: "No thanks, I've got one of those already" and pointed to the sticker on her book bag. The look of shock and horror on the PETA kids faces was priceless. Needless to say they never bothered her again

It should make you cry, and encourage you to buy cruelty-free meat if you are going to eat it. And yes, cruelty-free meat is available, you don't have to become a vegetarian to support the PETA cause.

This went straight into the trash last year. To address the argument about 'well it is free and really comes" If someone gave me a heads up about the graphic and in your face comic book, I would not of signed up for it. I appreciate it when other FW members give their opinions and tell me what they think of an item. Also , I may eat meat, but what about saving the trees!

No, seriously, agreed that opinions are like bellybuttons, and this is not the place, and we already buy cage-free eggs, etc., and I'm glad someone is giving the heads up so there won't be too many surprises. I love this place.
That is all.

Usually I would refrain from adding an opinion, but if you are truly an animal lover & anti-violence, PETA is probably not for you. Furthermore, you should expect to get flamed when you post something from such an extreme group such as PETA: This website exposes some of PETA's hypocracies...
PETA supports and harbors the ELF, an organization classified by the US government as an environmental terrorist organization. Sorry, their extreme views and their support of known terrorists means they will NEVER get my support.
and about petkillsanimals.com... a quick search finds:
Regarding Petakillsanimals.com and PhysicianScam.com and other such websites, you should know that they were created by the Center for Consumer Freedom (CCF), long known as a front for the food, beverage, and tobacco industries. They have been known to attack any group that wants to put moderation on any food or drink item, whatsoever.
"The Center for Consumer Freedom (CCF) (formerly called the "Guest Choice Network") is a front group for the restaurant, alcohol and tobacco industries. It runs media campaigns which oppose the efforts of scientists, doctors, health advocates, environmentalists and groups like Mothers Against Drunk Driving, calling them "the Nanny Culture -- the growing fraternity of food cops, health care enforcers, anti-meat activists, and meddling bureaucrats who 'know what's best for you.' "URL
i'm not a huge fan of PETA, they do some good and some not so good things... they are basically too large and just a corporation themsleves now, but to link blindly to a corporate driven opinion site in disguise is dangerouse.

There's absolutely nothing moderate about PETA. They target children as propaganda tools, to wit:PETA activists regularly target children as young as six years old with anti-meat and anti-milk propaganda, often waiting outside their schools to intercept them as they walk to and from class-without notifying parents. One piece of kid-targeted PETA literature tells small children: “Your Mommy Kills Animals!” PETA brags that its messages reach over 2 million children every year, including thousands reached by e-mail without the permission of their parents. One PETA vice president told the Fox News Channel’s audience: “Our campaigns are always geared towards children, and they always will be.”
And on top of that, PETA takes in pets, and then kills them because "it costs more to keep them alive." The loony PETA president has also supported the idea that people and animals can have a "mutually satisfying sexual relationship."
I wouldn't give my kids anything from PETA anymore than I'd give them botulism. But maybe that's the same thing.
