Just picked mine up at the Princeton, NJ store. Tons of them sitting on an unattended table. Most customers were walking right past them without even noticing.

I've used these bulbs before and love them. Thanks, OP!

oops ... didn't pick up Lexx's original message ... and that's who this is directed at.

Since you are so darned negative about this am going to say they are ideal to use in the garage, closets and basement where you don't really care about color quality anyway and who can't stand to save some energy costs.

i think HD should have done a lot more for the promotion like putting out flyer's in the store promoting it maybe even 2 weeks earlier. But then again maybe HD is not sincere enough to give these out free, the less the better for them.

Our local store in Ellicott City, Maryland ran out of them around lunchtime. No rain check. I applaud them for raising awareness but if they truly were concerned, why wouldn't they issue a rain check for those who took the time to visit.

My hubby went to different location around 10am and there was a table to sign name and zip code. Plenty left and not much people aware of this.

Then we went to different location around one pm and none was displayed. Then I asked for it at Customer Service Desk and sure enough, she gave it to me. Really hide out of sight. Maybe they wanted to keep them all.?????

Anyway, we have almost all in our house and really help a lot to save money on electric bill. Remmy to take burned out those lights bulbs to the recycle not to trash cans.

Enjoy saving energy on electric bill.

Green for OP.

I went about 1 pm, didn't see any mention of it, any displays set up, and noticed how crowded it was. I just assumed they were out. Oh well, good deal for those who got it, and still green for OP.

Actually, kind of odd... doesn't really do much good for them not to hand them out... they're not marked for retail sale (the UPC is printed with 'Promotional Use Only' over the code).

At my HD, they were stacked up at the checkout (and self-checkout) and they were just handing one to each person as they checked out.

I got to my HD at about 11:30 today... apparently they had already given out all 3 of the bulbs they had for the freebies

damn...i forgot my free bulb...

employees clueless in Macon, GA...what a shocker! :>

I went to the Lawrenceville, GA store (in northeast Atlanta) around 5:30pm. Looked around the entrance and main aisle and finally found a partially hidden sign and then a woman tucked away towards the back wall standing next to a box at the customer service counter. I pointed to the sign and told her that was what I was looking for. She had me print my name and zip code and there were only a handful of signatures before me. She gave me two boxes and as well my husband and brother-in-law. A nice, hidden promotion?!? I guess the employees wanted them more....

I switched all my bulbs last month, they already paid for themselves on the new electric bill. Just for anyone who thinks they are too expensive....

I calculated my payback at 6 months, but I did buy 45 bulbs and have 8 more to go.

Pick on up when I shop at HD, san jose today. It was around 4:50 pm, and seem like they have a lot in stock. They hide it well thou. I couldn't see it anywhere, and upon asking the cashier at checkout, he go grab one for me .

They had a table with the signup sheet at the entrance to the store we went to and the woman at the table really tried to sell them claiming we'd save "$50 a year" with one bulb (I think it's more like $50 over the 7 year life of the bulb). We actually did use the coupon to get a 100 watt bulb for a lamp we have a timer that comes on for four hours a night.

They close at 7, I went there about 6:30, they were hiding the lightbulbs on the corner. I needed to ask the cashier, she said nothing and pointed to the corner, not to mention her bad attitude, it seemed like I was stealing something from them. Anyway, still got the lightbulb. They still had almost full table of those light bulbs left.

Thanks OP!

My dh & I got ours too at one HD store at 3:00pm. They
were behind the C/S desk too at a corner. I saw others
getting theirs too.
