ooooooh noooooo we now have red/green police???
Yes, I agree with you, the way the post stands it certainly doesn't deserve green since it's not working - FOR NOW. It is a WalMart freebie and on their free stuff page so I'm sure it will work eventually.
The red/green system which is supposed to be based on a deal is very useful in some of the forums around here, like hot deals or finance or deal discussions but in free stuff I believe it's a joke.
I personally never red in the free stuff forum unless its spam - thats MY preference. Some people red/green based on the poster, others do it based on their beliefs....i.e non religious people giving red to all religious posts or non smokers giving red to all smoking item posts
You gave the post red for the deal not working - kudos for using the system the right way but you gave hunnydear red for a choice - isn't that contrary to how the system is supposed to work?

Based on the op? That is getting awfully silly and personal...I thought it was green for offers one felt a great deal AND a valid offer. Red for spam and careless reposts. Yellow or no vote for things one isn't interested in. hmmm.

I didn't say it was right - It SHOULD be based on the deal itself and the merits of the deal but come on look around most people use it to express their opinions, which is why I said its a joke. The only red a freebie post should get is if it's spam, repost, its not free or like this one is not working. But people on here use it at will like it's a weapon againt things they don't like.
I don't care that the post was given red and I understand pointing out to someone that they may not be doing something right but to red someones personal choice or action? He/she then turned around and gave red the person who gave him/her red in retaliation - how does that make any sense???? Is that the way the system is supposed to work?
GREEN for you Dee!!, don't let the morons get to you(morons know who you are).
Dee, you have contributed so much to this forum and the ones that complain are obviously looking for someone to post a freebie AND actually fill the form in for them as well..
keep it up, you have more supporters than you know.....

You see it on several post done this way. What I dont get is people rate red even if they arent interested in it instead of just passing on it. They dont like it so they just go in and rate it as red.I agree its helpful in stuff like hotdeals and so on . I really dont think it should be in freestuff when you have a not interested button. If you dont like it dont go in! On the repost issue I think they should be merged together if someone does repost. That way there isnt a bunch of locked topics.I have seen alot of red for peoples opinion and I would think that button be rated if someone posted something related to the Op topic that was helpful not as retaliation.
I give green when I like the post and know it will arrive like WalMart, Sams Club..you just know....other times I give green when the item arrives and I post it arrived, then we know it's an active freebie who delivers.
It's not Dee's fault WalMart fell asleep....but Dee didn't you call WalMart and tell them the link isn't working since you posted it? (she knows I'm teasing, but sounds ridiculous doesn't it?)
dee16 and Mumzof2 are the best! I do not say it enough. Thanks.

I emailed WalMart's website support about the non-functioning button problem last night. Received a reply a few hours later asking for the name of the sample product I was writing about (I had given them the page URL but I guess they missed it) and my contact info. Have not heard from them since.

Wouldn't it make more sense to wait and post the link when the freebie offer actually worked?
elliedoom said: Wouldn't it make more sense to wait and post the link when the freebie offer actually worked?
Just sayin'...
Sure, but I didn't know it wasn't working. It's on their main sample page and when samples hit there they generally work. It wasn't a sample I was interested in and didn't click it.
I don't post nonworking links.....usually. I know alot of the upcoming samples WalMart will release before they hit the sample page but have never posted them before they worked....the maxximum sample has been in test mode phase for about a week but when it hit the sample page I thought it was working....I'll know better to click through the next time. Sorry. I'm positive it will be fixed.....patience is a virtue
Two upcoming samples (NOT on their sample page) - the links do NOT work now but will in the next couple of days
Nivea Good-bye Cellulite Patch "We're Sorry! The free sample you have requested is sold out. Our samples go fast, so be sure to check out our Free Samples page frequently to take advantage of these great offers"

Whiskas Purrfectly Fish http://walmart.triaddigital.com/enhancedrendercontent_ektid13588.aspx If you're willing to invest some time, you can request the sample. On the first page, all the way to the bottom, click "start now". Next screen are pictures of cats, click "learn more". Next screen, click "free sample". Next screen, click "start here". Complete the form and hit submit. You can also list people you want to send this notice to also.
It will take you the American Greeting freebie though
The button is now working, unfortunately it takes you to a "Page Could Not Be Found" page!
By the way, my email to WalMart over the weekend was forwarded by them to StartSampling who emailed me this AM and said they would be sending me the sample.
someone from another site said they called and was told to request a sample by contact them. (Dog food sample) http://www.WalMart.com/cservice/cu_commentsonline.gsp?cu_heading=8
Under "How May We Help You?" for the Subject, I used #12 Other Questions and Comments.
elliedoom said: Hi Mumz! I requested a Whiskas sample through the American Greetings site months ago and never received it. Did anyone else receive theirs?Might be to early yet? Even though since end of March. We'll just have to wait until WalMart puts it on I guess.

This morning when I try the Maxximum Super Premium Pet Food link, I get the following: Sorry! The page you're looking for is either temporarily unavailable or no longer exists.

I was able to get this freebie to work. You still can't click on the Sample box, but right below the box in the orange/brown area it will give the hand. There are two sample, one for cats and one for dogs, the dog is on the left and the cat is one the right...it's an invisible link but it should show a text box when you scroll over the area for each sample.
