Okay. So here's the true scoop on Sutters Creek and "Jay". "Jay Sauls" is a pseudonym for Alexander Mauritz. He also goes by "Nick West". He runs a chain of "niche" websites for various information, affiliate programs, and "free gifts". He also owns "SuttersCreek.com", "FreeCoffeeCup.com", "Zorkler.com", and "JollyCook.com", among several hundred others in development (a simple Google search for his toll-free number will show you the various projects he's working on). His primary company name is Blue Bayou, LLC, which is a "web design" business. The company is actually located in West Valley, Utah (suburbs of Salt Lake City). He uses a Georgia mailing address for business and personal reasons, possibly to make him "untraceable" when he pulls the plug on a project. He operates from a 3 room office that belongs to Utah Valley fence company located at 5285 W 4700 S, Salt Lake City, Utah (http://pierpontavenue.com, http://www.merchantcircle.com for Blue Bayou, and http://www.merchantcircle.com for Utah Fence are a few of my sources for this address information). He started off with a retail store called "Holidays at Home", which then turned into an eCommerce website (Holidaysathome.com). From there he began seeking clients to offer web design services to, as well as virtual hosting through his reseller account with Wild West Domains. Thus spawned his hundreds of other niche sites for his own business. He's just a very small business trying to make a "dishonest" buck, and is not doing a very good job of it. He lacks the business sense and discipline required to operate a successful business, as evidenced partly by his reply e-mails to several users on a similar forum. He doesn't care about his customers. Rather than try and resolve issues, he ignores them, or bad-mouths them and writes them off. In the past, refund requests for merchandise went unanswered for months, and were often times never honored, resulting in dozens of unsatisfied customers (see his former eBay account's negative feedback for one example of evidence for this). From personal experience, he apparently routes all customer service calls from his 800 number to a cell phone, which he never answers, and he never returns calls for voicemails left. Forget ever trying to reach this person via phone. E-mail contact is also difficult. And since he lives in Utah, mail sent to his Georgia address will most likely never be received, or will be received very late. Just wanted to end the confusion as to who "Jay" and Sutters Creek are, and who they are not. Hope it helps in your dealings with him. >> ScamSleuth |
