Note that during installation, the software attempts to access the Internet. The following programs triggered my firewall:
DivxConnectionTester DivxPing
Both executed from the temporary application installation folder.
At the end of the installation, it auto-opens a DivX web page in your default web browser.
Seems reasonable, but I am a little paranoid about installation (or indeed, any) software that attempts Internet access without explicit permission. Starting the installed player also triggers an Internet connection, but it did not do that when I told it not to check for new versions on startup.
The serial number registers Divx Pro and Divx Converter, but not the MPEG-2 plugin or DFX Audio. Divx Author and media plugins are also not registered.
