Aren't these boxes and envelopes usually available for free at post offices anyway? Does anyone have any idea what exactly the special offers are? I am thinking about getting this for my brother, and he's already a Stamps.com member and got $80 worth of offers recently, so I'm trying to figure out if this is the same thing.
Got this in my email yesterday and signed up. I don't know what I'm really getting except boxes, but that's ok. It'll be great for selling stuff on eBay.
I've ordered dozens of free boxes and envelopes from USPS Postal Store. They deliver them to your door. Sometimes I feel bad when my postal worker has to carry them all, so I split the orders up.
not all post offices have boxes, especially if you need a certain size. They have a few. They tell you to order them online. But yes, they're free always (priority and express).

Okay, thank you very much.

This has been posted in the past...a while ago. I wonder why it didn't show up in search. While supplies last? That's odd since they've been doing it for as long as I've been selling on eBay (9 years).
What people have to realize is that you can't use those free envelopes/boxes/labels/tape for any other shipping than priority and express as the above poster mentioned.
There are eBay sellers who take advantage of these 'freebies' and turn them inside out and ship regular or media mail. I got something last week from a seller who used the strong priority envelope and then wrapped it with plain wrapper. The is illegal and there have been regular posts on eBay forums about their abuse.

The boxes are not available anymore in my area. They don't even supply the packing tape anymore. You have to buy your own. I get my tape from the dollar store.

The "while supplies last" is probably just a disclaimer to give them an exit if people try to abuse this service. The service is great, I have gotten boxes and labels from them for years. What people need to keep in mind though, is these materials are not free, they are paid for by our taxes as well as postal revenue. If you choose to abuse this, not only are you breaking the law, but facilitating increases in both postal rates as well as taxes, just a thought.
hm, i walked into my post office to mail a cpu to my brother(very small) and i had to either buy a padded envelope or a small box, i paid for the envelope(1.29) and the shipping, wish we had them free here. I guess i will get a few more than.

The free supplies are only applicable to express mail, and priority mail. I don't know how many post offices actually have these materials in stock, so you might have to order online.

In the interest of trying to be more 'green', you could try to use some recycled material to mail that the next time.
And yes, don't forget, the 'free' boxes/envelopes are only for priority and express mail.
So you may have paid $1.29 for the envelope but you probably paid $1.29 less mailing it non-priority/express.

I received this offer before, some little things plus a DVD, which need certain amount of money to activate. So I'll pass.
They no longer provide tape due to people using it for other purposes (tape packages for Moving) Glad they still offer the boxes.

Stay away from Stamps.com, I dealt with them before and it's a pain when you want to cancel the account. The kit came free but if you don't cancel within 30 days, you will be charged $15.99 for that first 30 days + 15.99 for the next month. The rate is not as great like they adverstised, you probably get the same rate if you use usps.com, but you have to pay $15.99 every month. Unless you ship out thousands items a month, don't use it. Take a look at their web site and good luck finding a way to cancel the account.
