After a year of absence, the annual free Cold Stone Creamery World's Largest Ice Cream Social is Back!
Mark your calendars! Thursday, September 25 5-8pm
Store Locator Participating US stores only. Please call to verify participation.
Well, you are probably aware that Cold Stone Creamery is NOT doing very well. Perhaps this is to get its name back out or perhaps it is simply for a good cause!
A nationwide event to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation, customers will receive a free 3 oz. serving of either Wish Child Emily or Wish Child Jack's creation and can donate to Make-A-Wish. These creations were made using two of Cold Stone Creamery's new ice cream flavors, Nutter Butter and marshmallow. Emily combined Nutter Butter ice cream with yellow cake, Kit Kat Candy, and white chocolate chips. Jack mixed marshmallow ice cream Oreo cookies, chocolate chips and fudge.
Cold Stone Creamery is part of the Kahala brands that include Blimpie, Cold Stone Creamery, The Great Steak & Potato Co., Samurai Sam’s Teriyaki Grill and TacoTime.
Guests will be encouraged to make a voluntary donation to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Large crowd at the closest, and the jar for Make-A-Wish looked pretty good as well. I had the Nutter Butter and it was tasty. They were organized, gave out tickets if you wanted the MAW ice creams with a nice woman explaining it. The tickets were given out well before the donation spot so there was no pressure, but I didn't see many skip it.

My local Cold Stone had sign posted at 7:20pm "No more free ice cream. Sorry".
There were about 50 people waiting in line OUT THE DOOR of the closest Cold Stone....no thank you...my time is worth more than that !!

There was a guy standing at the entrance door REQUIRING a donation to get an ice cream in Evanston, IL on Sherman Ave. He specifically said "no donation, no ice cream". What a jackass. This is clearly a false advertising. Will never buy at that store again.

Two of us went together so I got to try both flavors, which were previously mixed and ready for serving. Peanut butter was sweeter. I liked the creamy marshmallow of the marshmallow mix.
