Yeah, i agree. Most of these freebie sites aren't worth the trouble. They make you jump through way too many hoops...most are not worth it.

"easybakeware.com"

My WOT commenter says:
http://www.mywot.com/en/scorecard/easybakeware.com
"What they don't tell you up front is that they charge a $14.95 monthly fee. This is only disclosed in the fine print after you hit the "submit" button for your free item. You have seven days to cancel but if you haven't read carefully, you are not aware of the $14.95 charge to begin with."

PLEASE ADD WWW.BABYTOBEE.COM TO YOUR LIST OF "FAKE FREEBIES" . THEY ASK FOR A TON OF INFORMATION AND YOU GET A TON OF SPAM BUT NO FREEBIES. IF YOU ARE NIEVE ENOUGH (LIKE I WAS) TO GIVE THEM YOUR TELEPHONE NUMBER THEY CALL YOU TOO! WWW.BABYTOBEE.COM

After signing up to receive the free oprah magazine that was posted a week or so ago), I received an automated phone call from a company called residential email thanking me for signing up for their email service. Of course the phone call did not mention a charge. After looking up residential email's web page, I found out that 14.95 per month would be charged to my home phone number for this email service. After further research, I found out that this can occur when entering a contest that asks for your name, address and phone number. Somehow by entering some contest/freebies etc, you unknowingly authorize this charge to be billed to your home phone number. Any third party can bill to your phone number unless you have a block. Just be careful. Called my phone company to put a third party billing block on my phone, then I called residential email to cancel. Big hassle. Too bad I can not confirm with certainty which freebie site or sites "make" this happen.

I would suggest "quit smoking" and "tobacco prevention" program freebies from tobacco companies be added to the list.

Tobacco companies' "youth prevention" programs are known to encourage kids to smoke, making it sound like an attractive, mature activity--forbidden fruit. Their internal memos clearly state they know this and that's why they're doing it.

The court found them to be currently in violation of fraud and racketeering laws for doing this. [L=http://www.tobaccolawcenter.org/documents/marketing.pdf [/L]

I am guessing known fraudsters'/racketeers' offers aren't welcome here?

Here are some links.

Fight fire with fire.
Put these crooks out of business.

I register at everyone of these sites with a made up email address
such as blixbutt@yahoo.com etc.

If there are enough fake email addresses that kick back spam
these crooks can’t sell their mailing lists...
And they are no longer a problem!

Is it qualityhealth.com?

Once in a while you'll get a small sample from QH, but it's not worth the hoops they make you jump and the spam they send.

Well, if they do send samples, then they shouldn't be on the list. If people are willing to jump through hoops, then it's a legitimate freebie.

I have never actually gotten any samples from them but they do send a ton of advertising. Technically, it's not spam because you did sign up but since they trick you into signing up by offering samples and not sending them, I guess spam is the only designation that comes close to fitting.

I did a search for "movie" and didn't come up with a hit, so...

Maybe three times now, there has been a posting for a free promo mug for a movie. I found it odd that the same movie would continue to offer a promo item, waaay after it's supposed release date.

Anyhow, I never received the mug, as many times as I signed up at the site. And I don't remember the name of the movie, so I can't post the name. (Sorry.)

+++++++++++++++++

Found the name of the movie: "Tom's Friend". The funniest thing about this "promotion" is that the ONLY mention of this flick on the 'net is the MULTITUDE of mentions it gets on freebie websites! Pages & pages & PAGES as the result of a Google search. And currently, the website for the promotion is parked at GoDaddy.
