Register here (it's in German): https://license.avira.com/de/promotion-a8ydzq3fgnsu051rwq81

1st Box: Mr. or Ms.
2nd box: First Name
3rd Box: Last Name
4th Box: E-mail
5th Box: Country (USA is on that list)

Then go to the English version https://license.avira.com/en/ and use forgotten password to get a temporary password.
After you get your new password, login and you will see your 6 month key.
Download and install or upgrade your current free version with the key.

Works, thanks. I had just switched to the free one but its annoying with the nag screen every time it updates.
