If you're not a member, the following applies:
# If you're not yet an REI member: Include an REI membership for a one-time $20 fee with your purchase. (You won't have to enter a membership number.) You will have the opportunity to buy a membership at checkout. # The free reusable shopping bag will be added to your order at the final page of checkout (Review & Pay page).
You must make a purchase, if you remove the membership from the cart, the tote bag disappears.
Unless someone else has had a different experience, this is not a freebie.
