This is awesome, thanks OP! The ones in my area have stopped serving my favorite sandwich though, the portobello and mozzarella. They replaced it with a nasty tomato and mozzarella sandwich and since I'm a vegetarian that really limits my options for sandwiches.
Todd, I usually get the hummus sandwhich and a bowl of whatever veg soup they have. The great thing about Panera is that they are fast food, but they actually serve food. However, I just like to go there for coffee and a whole wheat bagel and "hide" for an hour or so, too.

I recently wrote to them about a similar issue. They do consider feedback when planning menus.
They just opened a new one near us a few weeks ago. I was in the shopping center where they are located and found a flyer on the ground, it turns out they were having a soft opening for invited guests and with the flyer I found, you could go in with a guest and each get a free meal including drink and pastry of your choice! I wound up going with my family (they said it was ok to bring my kids), we each got like $15 worth of stuff between the you-pick-two combo, coffee drink or smoothie, and pastry.
I went to one of Panera's locations in Pittsburgh (South Bouquet St.). They were not aware of such promotion. The guy's answer was: "we are just a franchise, maybe the corporate offices are offering that". Was this April's fools days?
