Currently playing on DirecTV channel 115 is an infomercial on Lipton Tea. While watching it you can press the Red button on the remote (it will prompt you also) to see the free Tea offer. They will send you a coupon to the registered address for the DirecTV account. Limit one, expires 7/13/09 or while supplies last. Looks like the coupon will be good for a whole box in the market.

We are unable to connect at this time. Pease confirm to a phone line and TRY AGAIN. If you do not have a phone line connected to your receiver we will not be able to process your request. If you continue to have difficulties, please select DONE and visit 1-888-435-3639 for this offer.
Thanks, worked for me. I had to temporarily connect my phone line and it worked fine after that. Thanks for the heads up! About the red button, some older receivers (well, their remotes) don't have the color buttons. I have 4 old receivers and 2 of the newer type with the colored buttons on them.

I'm relatively new (-2 years) so my equipment is relatively current.

those of us who are DIRECTV customers and have a DVR, either TiVo or the newer DVRs, have the red buttons on the remote controls. Need to be connected to phone.
If I have to be connected via the phone, then RED. Haven't plug in in over 3 years. And now with the newer DVRs you don't even need to as all updates are done via the sat and internet connection...

I have Direct TV but no LAN line since we only use cell phones because it is cheaper so I am out of the deal.

My receiver is 5+ years old so I guess that is why I do not have a "red button". And I am the same as wolffman . . . no home based phone here, only cell phones.

I just called and they said that their supply is gone. Guess I was too late!

On a seperate Interactive OT subject. If you have a modern DirecTV DVR try Right Clicking on the directional cross while just on any channel. It may offer to load the Widgets Panel!! More interactive..."Compliments of DirecTV". YMMV it's a beta. I hate that phrase they keep using. I pay over $80 a month, nothing is compliments unless they send me a voucher for a free PPV movie or something. /rant off
