Noticed that this was a non Starbucks site hosting that coupon. Anyone know if this works?

This isn't really free since you have to buy a starbucks card first...

I only see this listed under Gold Card membership on the Starbucks official website and to have a "gold card" it costs $25 a year

Huh. interesting about the rewards card. As for the gold card vs. regular... it looks like if you go to their card site and add your mailing address and birth date to your profile (if you already have a card; also eligible if you're a new sign-up), they'll send you a coupon. My only guess is that in this case, it shouldn't matter what kind of card you have. It isn't specified, but I could be wrong.

From the linked page in OP:

I got a starbucks gift card and enrolled the card in starbucks online. It's a reloadable card . There's a .45cent amount left. I dont know but the promotion is applicable to rewards card. I'll try it anyway.

I think you're correct..the free drink is only for the GOLD card members. Im not a GOLD card member but I love starbucks. I'd still keep my reloadable card even without the freakin FREE DRINK .. =)

Thanks OP! I registered successfully.

I am not a Gold Card member and have never been. In fact the $5 card I purchased has been expired for over a year now. I still got in for the free birthday drink.

This is what it says when I go under personal info on my account: One of the benefits of registering a Starbucks Card – you get to enjoy a free beverage on your birthday!
