I pledge to educate myself and others about the importance of choosing seafood from sustainable, environmentally responsible fisheries and fish farms.
In taking this pledge, I agree to use the contents of the Seafood Watch Sushi Advocate Kit.
I pledge to: Engage my sushi chef in a conversation about seafood and ask questions that will help me avoid items on the red list Carry Seafood Watch reusable, biodegradable chopsticks to reduce both consumption of resources and waste Leave behind three Seafood Watch Sushi Chef Feedback Cards to share my preference for ocean-friendly seafood Distribute five Seafood Watch Sushi pocket guides at restaurants and retail markets where sushi is sold in my community
Thank you OP. I checked the pledge, but did so with a lie in my heart. If somebody asks me about Seafood Watch, I will tell them about it, but I cannot (well, won't) just leave pamphlets around. Having a discussion with somebody is one thing, leaving pamphlets laying around (besides effectively leaving waste paper lying there to be thrown out) is preaching.
I will use the reusable chopsticks, and save resources in that manner.
Congratulations! You have successfully completed the Seafood Watch Sushi Pledge Form.
We'll be sending your Action Kit soon and following up with you in a few months with a short email survey to record your activities.

I remember doing this a while back... I never received my promised chop sticks back then. I'll try again this time... Thanks!
If I get it, I'll try to place the cards near some sushi, but I agree, this doesn't seem like the best way to get the message out. Maybe place them in the fridge of the sushi section of the grocery store?

Thanks OP. I frequent a lot of sushi places, especially when I travel, so I think it's a great way to get the message out to sushi chefs, and to sushi restaurants.
Taking your own chopsticks with you is a wonderful idea. The problem is that like retainers and eye glasses, most people are likely to forget to take them with them when they leave. I'd also be concerned about keeping the chopsticks sterile before and after use.
