My dad was the bar manager for a few high end restaurants when I was in college, he had his own subscription to Wine Spectator for years and I loved it.
I believe the original poster "sackoloot" was making a joke. Paul Giamatti says that line about Merlot in the movie Sideways. If you haven't seen it a very funny movie.
