When the FABTECH International & AWS Welding Show, hits McCormick Place in Chicago on November 15-18, ESAB will be there with a championship display of welding and cutting capabilities. This annual event brings together more than 1000 exhibitors and an expected 35,000 attendees and features thousands of live equipment demonstrations. This year, ESAB will demonstrate that we are the “undisputed champion” of welding and cutting with numerous new products and solutions for all applications from manual to high production automated lines. Our “heavyweight” booth, #34043, will feature solutions for automation, submerged arc welding and other high production applications. Our “middleweight” booth, #40075, will focus on manual equipment and solutions for smaller shops and individual welders. Visit both booths, take the “tour” and demo some equipment and you’ll be registered for a chance to win a Wii and a Mike Tyson knock-out game.

Here are a few of the products you can see on display at FABTECH:

At Booth #34043, ESAB will focus on automation and other solutions for high production applications. We will introduce a number of new products for automated production lines, including modular column & boom systems; a new A2-A6 PEK Process Controller for use with CAN-controlled ESAB power sources and motors; a line of conventional and self-aligning rollerbeds, including the new FUB 30 Fit-Up Bed; AristoRod MIG welding wires;and four new power sources for submerged arc welding. The TAF 801 and TAF 1251 AC power sources use a unique square wave technology suitable for a wide range of AC welding applications. For DC welding, ESAB is introducing the LAF series of three-phase, fan-cooled DC welding power sources designed for high productivity mechanized submerged arc or high productivity GMAW welding.

A number of new wire and flux options for submerged arc welding will also be introduced. These include the new BigBag packaging that holds 2200 lbs of flux, the new EcoCoil package that holds 2200 lbs of wire, and new Alloy Shield 70S metal-cored wire. This metal-cored wire will provide higher deposition rates than solid wires of equal size, with the same amperage, electrical stick-out and flux, and can increase travel speed by 15-20% or more.

ESAB will also exhibit its Sabre DX Precision Cutting Machine for high production plasma and oxy-fuel cutting over large working areas. Designed for heavy-duty precision cutting, this rugged gantry can be equipped with up to eight stations including up to two plasma stations featuring ESAB’s m3 Precision Plasmarc system that allows the machine to cut and mark with the same plasma torch.

ESAB will demonstrate a number of solutions for smaller shops and individual welders at booth #40075, featuring several additions to ESAB’s popular Dual Shield X-Series wire, a new model in the PowerCut family of manual cutting packages, several new models in the Caddy family of portable welding equipment and new solutions for hand-held oxyfuel apparatus.
