Exactly how is this a "$100 value"? The beta costs nothing, and you can't get it past October 2010 without paying for it then. There is no value to this other than having the use of the software for about a year. A while there is certainly a benefit to having this for that time, no wya can anyone quantify it as a "$100 value".
It's not like anyone is actually paying $100 for this somewhere else.

Red for a lousy title.

I explained that, but apparently you didn't read the thread. Fat Wallet requires a hot deal to be above $10 in value if it's a "freebie". Since there's no way to attach a dollar value to a BETA version, I used the value of the regular version so the mods don't move this off hot deals. of course some people are too busy finding fault to ever understand anything......

So apparently just making things up to get you post into Hot Deals - as opposed to Free Stuff, where it should be - is OK. Yes, I understand that some people only look at the Hot Deals section and don't bother with looking elsewhere. Perhaps if people didn't make stuff up to get everything into Hot deals in the first place, then folks may be in the habit of actually looking in the right places around here.
damn... I've installed it and it's working beautifully for the most part, except an add-in package I absolutely need doesn't work. It won't let me have both Office 2007 and Office 2010 (64bit) installed simultaneously either.
Does anyone know if the new office 2010 uses a new file type like they did in 2007, example .docx from .doc? I wonder if I can go back to Office 2007 from 2010 without having to worry about saving my files in compatibility mode come next October.
looks like its compatible (still uses Open XML .docx .pptx, etc...)

Thanks! Looking forward to see the new improvements. I thought I remember reading a while back that they would be supporting .odt I wonder if it's supported in this version (yes I know wishful thinking).

Office 2007 already does that.

Yes, they released a faulty beta and don't want people to use it
But really, that way you can download one version to use on more than one computer no matter what version OS you have.

Actually, I would defer that the value is probably more than $100, as it is a fairly stable release of an excellent office suite that otherwise would cost you much more. So I have to admit I do not understand the ire against this excellent contribution.
I personally have Office Ultimate 2007, and I find this 2010 version a great improvement.
