**** I just tried and it is working fine for me. So, for those it failed, you may want to re-try.
How cool. Thanks. I know some folks who would really appreciate this. I don't think they'd mine tipping. 2 or 3 of them are waitresses themselves. They understand it is hard work. And DESERVES recognition! Come'on pyee01, give me a break.
I have two codes I'm not going to use, so the first two people to PM me will get one each. Also, for anyone else; if you PM me a name/State & email address, I will sign into the site and send one to you.
The two free ones are gone but the offer to send some to you is still open....
It's not necessary a free thing. It works out getting 20% off or some other fraction. Mostly unknown restaurants in the neighborhood. Not a really good deal, and restaurants also opt out, and then it's a pain to transfer the credit into another certificate. Thank goodness I am in CA where gift certificates do not expire. Otherwise, like the economists have said, a lot of people who received gift certificates forget to use them.
One restaurant is always reluctant to take them and insists on us ordering desert, etc.
I look at these free $10 coupons as sort of paying for the tip. I've never had any trouble using any restaurant.com coupons. Waitresses and hosts are always gracious and work to make my meal at their place as enjoyable as possible. They want me to come back and bring my friends. Or at least tell friends how wonderful the service is and how the meal was Great! Hospitality is the name of the game in the restaurant business.
I've already printed out quite a few of these gift certificates from restaurant.com under this promotion and given them to friends and relatives. I have used two at a couple of local restaurants for breakfast and lunch and the owners were very pleased that I passed out several gift certificates to my friends and relatives. They want the business and it's a lot cheaper than advertising in the paper. Word of mouth is the cheapest advertising.
These gift certificates are good for a year from date of printing and every month or so I'll buy several for $2 for the $25 certificates at my favorite restaurant. The bill always is close to $100 and the $25 certificate will cover the tip. Everyone knows us there and I get great service and the hostess is always giving us free dessert. This restaurant gave my niece a huge discount last year for her daughters First Holy Communion party that they had there. My niece was surprised when she got the bill and the owner told her it was because of her relationship to me. Just got my niece shaking her head again as usual for the people I know.
