The $2 Samy VV did not work for me when I tried to use it last time. It does not show the hair color on it.

Be sure to tell the cashier (before she starts ringing up your transaction) to opt you out of the electronic +Ups that are loaded onto your card automatically. If you don't do that, then +Ups will come off before you give your manufacturer & in-ad coupons, which may prevent you from using all of your coupons. You want to have control over which +Ups are used when, and you can only do that if you opt-out of the electronic loading. If the cashier doesn't know how to do it, tell him/her that they were given an associate's pamphlet with instructions on how to manage the Load 2 Card system, including how to opt-out a customer when they request it.

If you don't opt out, here's what you have to do (quoted from SD) to ensure that you can still use your coupons:

"If you keep ups loaded to your card, have them scan all your products, then your coupons, then scan your RA card - Do this last and you should have no problems. (Maybe cause this is RA!)"

Of course, some cashiers may insist on scanning your card first, so I feel it's much better to just opt out and not have to worry about it any more.

Or, likewise, you could print out the instructions for cashiers to opt you out that I posted in the last two week's Rite Aid weekly threads.

Reach Floss is $2.99 each according to in-ad coupon, also in another area of the ad it says it is 2/$7 with $2 +UP. Can anyone confirm that it rings $2.99 AND gives the $2 +UP? It wasn't tagged for the +UP in my store, only for $2.99 price.

deal idea:
$5.98 - 2 Reach Floss
-$2.00 - 2x $1 off RC49 in-ad coupon
-$2.00 - 2x $1 off Reach Floss 7/29 SS
-$1.00 - L2C if you haven't used it
=$.98, get back $2 +UP

G.U.M. products are 2/$5 with $1 SCR. There is a $1 RC49 coupon in the oral care booklet, several $.75 SavingStar coupons, and a $.55 off any GUM oral care product in the 8/5 SS. Unfortunately the oral care book coupon is only good for a select few of the sale items. Unfortunately only the star wars toothbrush double dips with the oral care coupon book and $.75 SavingStar coupon.

Deal idea:
$2.50 Gum starwars brush
$2.50 GUM softpicks (no SavingStar coupon for this, but works for $1 coupon in oral care booklet)
-$1.10 (2x $.55 off any GUM Oral care product)
-$1.00 August SCR
-$2.00 (2x $1 off GUM in oral care coupon book)
-$.75 SavingStar GUM Starwars brush
=$.15 for both

Renu lens solution is $7.59 gold
$7.59 Renu gold price
-$2.50 MQ (coupons.com club - free trial available for 1-year with coupon BIRTHDAY)
-$2.00 L2C coupon if you still have it
=$3.09, get back $7 +UP ($3.91 MM)

So it turns out that one my cards did get the Load2Card turned off but the other did not. Since it's my secondary card, I may leave it turned on, since it turns out that it can be useful in letting my son spend the +Up's while he is at school, such as this week when the Arizona iced tea is on sale for 50c, he can go in and scan the card from his phone and use the +Up credit. The other card did get coupons printed, but they clearly state that they are only valid starting tomorrow. And as was previously discussed, even the monthly +Ups are now only valid for 2 weeks. I bought my last Sting-eze and it's only valid thru 9/16, not 9/19 as the others were. Amusingly, the cashier told me the coupons would not print, and of course she felt proud of herself when they did not on the first card, but looked perplexed when they did on the second.

I definitely spent less at RA today than I would have without the new policy. I would have bought a bunch of Friskies cat food with my +Ups from the Organix and Prell shampoo but I stopped spending once I spent my existing +Up's since I did not want to go further out of pocket and end up with more +Up's. I will probably go back tomorrow since it is a holiday and I can flip them again and get the FAR Sani-Hands Hand Sanitizing Wipes that was mentioned earlier. I also would have bought the lens solution first and then turned it into the shampoo, but didn't do that since I was in CT where coupons are not taxed, and shampoo is taxable but contact lens solution is not. I suppose I could buy that tomorrow with the $6 in +Up's and then go back later in the week and turn that into cat food. But what a pain!

There was no Samy hair color coupon in my ad.

My wife and I also got our flu shots so we got coupon books. Will buy prunes later in the week with the coupon from the books. Once again, my insurance only paid enough for the long needle shot, not the short one .

Physicians Formula is BOG50%, spend $20 get $7 +Up. Received $5/1 PF RA coupon in email. You know the drill-- change the email address, in private browsing, etc.
Turns out besides loading +Up to cards the software also recognizes overage. So if you bought 4 PF items for $18 and tried to use 4 of the $5 coupons the register would say that you needed to spend $2 more. The work around is to have manufacturers coupons (there was one in recent SS but I didn't get it) or the peelies often found on PF products.
I got a $12.95 blush w/ $3 peelie on it and 3 eye liners.
$12.95
50% of $5.50 eye liner ($2.75)
Eye Liner $5.50
50% of $5.50 eye liner ($2.75)
- 4 $5/1 RA coupons
- $3 peelie
= $0.95 and got the $7 +Up.

My understanding is that if my total had been $20.95 the 4 RA coupons still would have gone through and it would have been more of a MM but couldn't test it cuz $12.95 was the cheapest item I found w/peelie.

Got 2 eye tweezers BOG50%: $2.99 + $1.49 - 2 $2/1 vv (didn't have the mfg coupons) = $0.48 and got the $3 +Up
Got 2 PlumSmart (when did prune juice become plum juice???) and 2 $2 +Up

We didn't get Samy or Nivea coupons either. Its ok; I can use a slow week.

Don't use up all of your Revlon Eye beauty tools VV coupons. Starting 9/5, the SCR is $2 wyb 1 Revlon eye beauty tool regular retail of $3 or more (limit 2).

$4.50 - 2x Revlon Perfectweeze (shelf price $3.00; $4.50 after BOGO50%)
-$4.00 - 2x August VV Revlon eye beauty tools
=$.50, get $4 SCR and $3 +UP, $6.50 MM

The Revlon beauty tool MFQ are all expired. I printed the facebook coupons on 8/26 and they printed with an 8/31 expiration date (same exp. date as the ones I printed much earlier).

my4mainecoons said:   Got 2 PlumSmart (when did prune juice become plum juice???) and 2 $2 +Up
They decided that prunes have a bad reputation, so now they're called dried plums. So I guess prune juice is now plum juice.

Ugh, the Honest tea coupon prints on the bottom of the page with a large useless logo above it. I had a half sheet of paper in the printer and lost the coupon. How idiotic are these companies.

$1 coupon for the Sani-Hands that is FAR.

NM turns out the coupons print with an expiration date of 6/30/12!

So I made my second pass today. Got the Renu and wipes on one card, Renu, prunes and wipes on the other. Fortunately the store I went to had everything. Still very annoying.

what was annoying?

Having to go back to the store to complete what should have been yesterday's purchases. And having to go back again later this week to buy cat food and iced tea that should also been part of yesterday's purchases.

Yes, that is annoying.. I only started the week with $5 +UPs. Spent it on Nivea on Sunday, received a $10 +UP. Then had to wait 24 hours to reload. Today I spent the $10 +UP on more Nivea and Renu.. All of my +UPs are gone again, but tomorrow I will have $17 in +UPs.

I bought two bags of the Russel Stover Sugar Free Candies. Shelf tag said 2 for $3 and you get a $1 +UPS. The ad makes no mention of the +UPS. Of course, I received no +UPS. Anyone else have this happen on their order? I opted for the CRT +UPS.

Did you happen to notice the date on the shelf tag? I'm guessing it was an old tag.

The next day thing is annoying because we don't have a lot of +Up. If I had a lot then I'd be using last week's this week and wouldn't notice the time restraint.

Does anyone know if the cashier can enter your Wellness card number at the register or if they can only do it by phone number? My son has my card on his phone and if he ends up at a store with the old scanners that do not work with phones, I am not sure if the phone number that the particular card I want him to use is registered under. If I contact RA customer service and they find all the cards I have under my phone numbers (most of which are unused, I got several at the start when they didn't buy you anything and I'd lose them soon after getting them) they might get suspicious. Is there a way to update it online in a way such that the register lookup will find that phone number?

No, I only noticed after having paid...and making it out the door right at closing time! Page 11 of this week's ad shows the SF Russel Stover bags 2 for $3--no UPS mentioned. It also shows above that the Russell Stover or Whitman's Chocolates 1 - 2 oz., Brach's Mellowcremes 7 - 8 oz., Ferrara Pan Caramels 5 oz., Russell Stover Bagged Candy 2.95 oz. at 2 for $2.00 with the $1.00 +UPS WYB 2. Maybe they had them tagged wrong, but I do know for certain the ones I bought had the yellow shelf tag stating "SF" in regards to the +UPS.

I will have to check when I go back tomorrow...

MrVietnam said: $10+UP wyb1 Limit 2 Rogaine, Viviscal Hair Nutrient Tabs $39.99

There is a Smart Source printable coupon on the Rogaine website for $10 off your purchase of Rogaine. Click here for a $10 coupon. With coupon and +UP, final cost would be $19.99, that's 50% off.

there is a also a $20 MIR available here

This is the 3rd time during this rebate period that the rogaine is free after sale/UP/rebate. For those that haven't done this that want to do it, this may be the last time it's free at Rite Aid during this promotion (rebate ends 9/30/12).

I got a letter from Rite Aid today saying that now through the end of the year, they will give me a $5 +UP (unlimited) for each prescription I have filled at Rite Aid. That is nice, but I rarely need to buy prescriptions so it isn't much of a benefit for me.

I just got to silver this weekend, which really surprised me since I was at 200 or so points not too long ago and I was sure I would not get to 500 this year.

Flu shots count as prescriptions, so if you get that at RA, you would get the coupon book and $5. It would be nice if that was on my account as well, since my wife and I got our flu shots there (and also filled a prescription) on Saturday! I was told we'd get 25 points for each. I'll bet they won't send me the offer since I am in NY, and they cannot offer promotions like points on prescriptions here.

I am Gold (24 carat).

Combined with the +UP and the coupon I linked to, that is a great deal. You have until 12/31 to submit it, but the purchase must be made by 9/30. My Rite Aid didn't have the foam in stock, so I ended up getting a Rain Check with a note from a manager to subtract the +UP from the sale price at time of purchase, since there isn't a way to do the +UP later (or so I'm told).

Just got back. I returned the two peg bags, got my total refund. Went back to check the shelves and there they were, 20 yellow tags all stating $1 +UPS WYB buy two SF bags. The date was until 9/8. And this is the reason I should have my +UPS loaded to my card? I don't think so!

I bought some wipes and used my printed +UPS from Sunday. The cashier asked if I just received those +UPS today because if I did, they were not valid until after 6AM tomorrow. Either she is correct(and no one has figured that out yet) or, she is confused with the load2card +UPS not working until afte 6AM. I told her how RA is making it much more difficult to shop there but making it much easier to go elsewhere with all of these changes. She stateed the reason was because people were complaining about having to wait in line while someone made multiple orders to use up there just received +UPS with the old set-up.

Hey RA, maybe just deduct the +UPS from the sale price at the very start and that would really cut down on the waiting in line and all of these games being played with OUR money?!?!

Doesn't matter how you receive your +UPs. +UPs earned (printed or load2card) on or after 9/2 are not valid until 6 am the next day.

Didn't you see the "annoying" comments in the thread?

And don't have half the ad include +Up deals. The most annoying thing is that they actually think that making people come into the store several times a week is a GOOD thing and that customers will not object to it.

Going on vacation mid next week, so gotta use all this week's +UPs by next Tuesday.

6AM activation + 2 week expiration (from purchase) =

I was surprised to find that Sani-hands was a separate rebate program, I guess because it scanned 2 rebate periods. That's gotta be an expensive rebate for them to have, since they need to mail a separate $2.99 check for everyone who submitted it.

How does a cashier know when you got your +UPs? If you try to use +UPs you got the same day what will happen? Anyone try it?

Obviously load2card +UPs are tied, but printed +UPs are not (at this point in time).

In case folks were not aware, the +Up that can't be used until the next day CAN be used immediately if the cashier enters the 11-digits and "item look up". I've done it several times. Same thing goes for the coupons that print on your receipt that have a next day start date. They beep as "not active yet" but if cashier keys in the 11 digits they go through.

I bought Nicorette lozenges back to back:
Box #1 $36.79 (g)
- $5 vv
- $10 manufacturer coupon
$21.79 oop, got back $15 off your next Nicorette purchase RA receipt coupon; submit for $5 SCR

Box #2 $36.79
- $5 vv
- $10 manufacturer coupon
- $15 receipt coupon dated for next day; after it beeped asked cashier to key it in-- went through
= $6.79 oop, got back $15 +Up and submit for $5 SCR (different acct)

next day got box #3 using $15 +up from above. Got next $15 +Up which I used an hour later when SS keyed it in.
Great SS. She told me she'd opted out immediately and agreed that the 6AM rule was ridiculous. Said she didn't mind keying in to work around it.
