I believe senior is considered 55 years old. http://www.walgreens.com/topic/promotion/seniorday.jsp

I remember a post over at SD from the previous Senior day where someone had shown their AARP card expecting to get the senior 15% discount, but instead got no discount. What they really got was their AARP card and balance rewards card linked. There is a seperate program where you can link your AARP and Balance Reward cards which unlocks certain point deals for you. These change every month and can be found here: http://www.walgreens.com/topic/promotion/aarpcard.jsp

I'm just saying if you're going to show your AARP card as proof of your age to get the senior discount, make sure you actually get the discount. If you don't get the discount you may have confused the cashier with the other AARP program.

To clarify your post, doens't matter what form of ID they use (AARP, Drivers Lic, etc), the cashier must hit the senior discount button on the on-screen register to apply the discount. Showing the AARP or any other form of ID still requires cashier intervention, there is no "automatic" senior discount applied.

What happened to the SD poster was not a result of using the AARP card, it was the result of not paying attention to his/her final total on the screen.

Where is the Senior Day advertised? Last Senior Day, I don't see it mentioned in the flyer; and when I ask a young staff member whether that day is a Senior Day, he has to ask another staff member.

Why not in the flyers? Don't they want seniors to use it? e.g. I rarely go to their web site and I won't know it if I haven't read it here.

And how do you know about the date if it is not on their web site yet? Do you work there? Just curious.

TIA

I did a similar online deal Sunday AM buying Centrum. I just checked my BR balance and they only awarded me 10,000 pts -- not 20,000. (My order confirmation shows 20,000 pts earned on this order.)

1) ad scan added to op (link)

2) note SENIOR DAY on 2/1 (Friday). 15-20% off ALL ITEMS (exc gc's, cigs, lottery, etc)

20% applies to wags/nice brand items.

ALL FREE A/RR items will be money makers if you do senior day! for instance, $10 item free a/rr will be $8.50, still get back $10 RR.

Where is the Senior Day advertised? Last Senior Day, I don't see it mentioned in the flyer; and when I ask a young staff member whether that day is a Senior Day, he has to ask another staff member.

TIA

It will be on their website. will have a link to the info prior to Friday. they don't put it in the weekly flyer.

Why not in the flyers? Don't they want seniors to use it? e.g. I rarely go to their web site and I won't know it if I haven't read it here.

And how do you know about the date if it is not on their web site yet? Do you work there? Just curious.

TIA

it's in the flyer, bottom of front page here. Notice it says AARP or 55.

So in that case, it's possible that having your AARP card linked will suffice to get the discount.

as previously discussed Bill, that by itself does not generate the discount. the cashier HAS TO PROMPT the register screen to apply it. it's not a card generated discount like a sales price, think of it as giving the 10% appreciation coupon at Staples, they have to manually prompt for that additional savings.

This rang up $19.99 at my local store, but did kick out $10 RR. I confirmed it was correct product, but not interested unless a freebie, so I did an instant return

Look at the ad again. The $10 sale price is with a BR card/account. Slight fail on your part, bigger fail on the cashier's part for not mentioning this.
The cashier mentions the BR program every time I check out now. They are (supposed to be) trained to promote this program.
You can sign up at the register or online. Only takes a few minutes.

Labboy,

do you have a Balance Rewards card? Program has been going on for about 6 months now. Just like CVS you have to present the card or give your phone number to get the sale prices. Sorry if you weren't aware of this program, it's been talked about on here for sometime now.

The KY Ultra Gel is OOS just about everywhere.. None available in my area since Sunday.

If you find the shelf spot for the DHEA with no stock, there may still be some available. I found quite a few of these in the Overhead area. In some stores the shelf tag is actually up in the overhead, but in other stores it is in the vitamin section. If there is a shelf tag in the vitamin area with no stock, there may be lots up in the overstock area.

The MG217 probably isn't OOS, but I think some stores may not carry it. either that or it was really hard to find. I only found it in a few stores.
