WalMart, the nationís largest retailer, has just announced that they will now be price matching Buy-One-Get-One-Free (BOGO) sales at Publix, Winn Dixie and other local grocery stores.† WalMart continues to fight to grab more grocery business nationwide, therefore they have made this move in going after one of PublixísĖand many other storesíĖtop selling points:† BOGO sales.

  • Molly confirmed that WalMart shoppers do NOT need to have a Publix ad or any other store ad with them for WalMart to price match the BOGO sale.† Simply tell your cashier the items you are buying are BOGO at another store and they will price adjust your items.
  • WalMart will honor the sale as a true BOGO sale, unlike stores such as Publix and Winn Dixie.† When purchasing two items that are being price matched to BOGO Free at WalMart, one item will ring up at full price and the other item with ring up FREE, meaning you have to buy two items to get the BOGO sale.† At stores such as Publix & Winn Dixie, BOGO sale items ring up at 50% off so you can only buy one if you prefer, however this is not how it will work at WalMart
  • Molly confirmed WalMart WILL allow a coupon on the free item.† So if you buy two products, have them price matched to BOGO Free, you can still use TWO coupons!† Yay!

WalMart will price match the BOGO sales with their everyday low prices still in place.† So if the price at Publix for the BOGO item is higher, youíll get WalMartís lower price plus the BOGO sale.†

At stores such as Publix & Winn Dixie, BOGO sale items ring up at 50% off so you can only buy one if you prefer,... <<

This is NOT true for Publix in Florida. In Florida, one item will ring up at full price and the other item with ring up FREE, meaning you have to buy two items to get the BOGO sale.

But you can use Qz on both items ...

What is interesting, though, is that walmartsux will price the BOGO to their price ... or whichever price is cheaper. So if an item is $5.99 BOGO at Publix on sale and walmartsux current price is $4.99 ... they will BOGO the price @ $4.99.

And even though it says you don't need the ad ... bring one w/ you anyway and avoid the wait ...

I think ive done that before... months ago. I did it bc W had the selection of entree I liked and P didnt. Seems as though stores purposely dont carry the same flavor of an item when they know x is stocking it. For instance the Recipe Makers... noticed T has certain flavors that P doesnt have.

Is there a printed WalMart policy on this??

Or even a link to where this was posted..
