Post cereal this week on sale at Walgreens for 1.99. Above link is for $2 coupon.

I never could get used to the idea of chocolate (flavoring) for breakfast.
Green for the coupon.

What's with this couponprinter.exe we have to install first?

"You need it to print barcodes that scan at the store"

"insert Nirvana album name here"

Thanks OP! Great find!

Cant use a scan like that - the retailer will not get reimbursed when 100 of the same tracking ID coupon are used.

Best browser for these (to back up and print one more):

IE7 on Windows (Firefox balks for me sometimes)
Safari on the Mac (others not compatible)

Make sure you set your default printer correctly. It will NOT print to PDF.

There's no chocolate flavor in my Walgreens. Can I use it on different flavors?

do they all have this new chocolate kind of honeybunch?

kcliou said: There's no chocolate flavor in my Walgreens. Can I use it on different flavors?

nope. got denied but they have em at Safeway 2 for $5

Good deal, but please change title to "Free Honey Bunches of Oats With Chocolate Clusters"
All Post cereal is not free after coupon.

Other people have used it on non-chocolate flavor with a previous Walgreens deal. It's YMMV.

Thanks!

And other people have shoved it under their coat and walked out with it. Also YMMV.

Using a coupon for the wrong product is fraud even if it scans. The coupons specify the chocolate flavor. Walgreens may not get reimbursed if they don't sell that variety.

kcliou said: There's no chocolate flavor in my Walgreens. Can I use it on different flavors?
Yes you can. Don't listen to other poster. This coupon works with any flavor of HBOO at Walgreens only, I have used it. But the coupon doesn't work at other stores like Ralphs, Safeway, & Vons if you don't buy the correct flavor. I am sharing this info from past experience.

For me, the coupon didn't scan at Ralphs even when buying the correct Chocolate variety...required a manual override.

Well even if you don't listen to me - I tried to use it yesterday at my local Walgreens and the cashier even told me "we can try it on the non-chocolate HBOO, it should work"... and then it ended up not working.

It's not like I'm intentionally lying to try to prevent you from getting this deal, just recounting my experience, ok?

Unfortunately, you can only speak for yourself as it doesn't work at any Walgreens in my area for anything other than the choco flavor and they don't carry that flavor so your post should read YMMV........

Yes, please change the title. Thank you.

I wasted my time looking all over on that page.- I like Honey Bunches of Oats with Almonds - that is not FREE - valid only for Chocolate Clusters

Can you change the title?

I refuse to put that printer program on my computer. It has an uninstall feature, but left about ten mystery files on my hard drive when I removed it.

HEADS UP:

The coupon is beeping, not because it won't scan, but because it's more than the sales price of $1.99.

They need to modify the price to $1.99. When these were on sale for $2.50 at Walgreen's a few weeks ago, they scanned just fine because it was over the $2 mark.

Thanks OP!! Worked like a charm!!

thanks OP

worked like a charm. luv it. my wife and everyone loves this post cereal. not the choco.

hope it works in our OR walgreens... dimwit clerks keep calling manager!

If the clerk knows what they're doing, and they do their job as they are supposed to, it will not work with anything but the Chocolate clusters version of this cereal. If they have no clue or no scrupples, they will over-ride for the wrong cereal, then the boss will flip when they don't get reimbursed.

I printed my coupon, then by mistake hit back a few times trying to get to the OP page(didn't notice it was a popup) and suddenly my printer spit out another coupon. Now I knew it wouldn't work because these coupons are custom printed with unique bar codes so I was surprised a second copy came out. But, alas, these two coupons have unique bar codes at the top right so they should work as intended.

Has nothing to do with the clerk or over-riding anything for the coupon to work. The coupon is coded for any flavor even though it reads and shows chocolate. The coupon will not scan if the amount due is lower than the coupon. I purchased 2 boxes (honey roasted & allmonds) because they did not have chocolate. The first coupon scanned fine... the second did not. The MANAGER (who was behind the register) said it won't scan because amount due is lower than the coupon. Had nothing to do with over-riding. Simple solution, get a filler like I did... lots of items there that are 50¢ & under, then coupon(s) scan fine and are accepted. Purchase has to be more than the coupons you are redeeming...duh on my part..LOL, forgot the whole rule of thumb thingie.

Also, you are right frogroast...you can legally print 2 coupons as with the majority of online printable coupons. Very seldom there are times they will let you print more, depending on the promotion & company. Sometimes they will only let you print one...so that varies also. Again you are right, each coupon will have its own unique mini bar code number in the top right, but same bottom bar code at bottom for scanning. The mini bar code at top right confirms it was not duplicated if you have issues at the store (its your proof it was not copied/duplicated) which you shouldn't. However, its the companies proof if duplicated that fraud was committed because those numbers in the top right are the same, not different. Everytime you print a coupon they get your IP, they know how many you printed & you get a unique code for each grocery coupon.

With that said, I am still amazed at those who duplicate coupons to commit fraud...just saddens me they think they are smart when in fact they aren't quite smart enough. Manufacturers and retailers are fully aware of coupon fraud and have and will continue to take further actions to prevent it without hurting the innocent ones. Steal the bread and you will leave bread crumbs ....

Thanks OP! Green for you!

Why red?????????? Because I speak the truth and in doing so, help others or at least try to??? Hmmm, interesting group here......LOL, I can at least thank you for the giggle

Thanks OP!!
It works for me this morning!
I got one Almond flavor for free!!

You're ALLOWED to print two of these coupons. That's the maximum number per computer IP address on ANY coupons that have those unique barcodes present. You didn't just luck up and get two.

The coupon does scan for any flavor of Post Honey Bunches - we all used this coupon two months ago before the Chocolate Clusters cereals were available in the store. The question is whether or not the cashier will let you use it because the item sold does not match (even if the coupon works.)

Snap,

I didn't give you red, but your advice about just adding a filler is incorrect here. This is a manufacturer coupon, not a Walgreen's coupon.

The problem is a $2 coupon for Post matches up against a $1.99 purchase of Post in the system and it doesn't take it. Filler isn't going to help you here, as the register reads the UPC involved, not simply dollar amounts. The coupon has to be manually adjusted to $1.99 or $2 input manually as a manufacturer coupon. Buying a pack of gum isn't going to help the coupon UPC match up to approve the $2. You are simply wasting money to buy a filler in this situation.

MrCheap,
Perhaps for you, but I have no reason for lying or being dishonest here. I stated exactly what happened to me in my situation. I bought 2 boxes of cereal, neither being the chocolate. Took them to the register with my 2 coupons. Manager which happened to be the cashier, scanned both boxes and rang up $1.99 ea, making my subtotal $3.98 (of course tax for total). Anyway, the first coupon SCANNED fine... the second coupon DID NOT SCAN... manager stated I needed something else aka a filler to bring the SUBTOTAL up to $4.00 the amount of both coupons. Explaining the SUBTOTAL before Tax had to be more or of equal value in order for the coupon to scan. So I purchased a piece of candy they had next to the register for 29¢....the manager scanned the candy adding it to my order, then SCANNED THE SECOND COUPON and presto it worked. There was NEVER a manual adjustment or over-riding. I refuse to argue and I have clearly stated my situation and how it worked, hoping to help others that may run across same situation...simple. My advice is correct, just because it isn't for you doesn't mean it isn't for others...one size doesn't fill all btw. Geeez, its merely impossible to help people around here...most of you act as if its your life here and to be on top so you all give red......hmph. Forget it, I will keep all my deals to myself and any situations that helped me to make a better purchase of a deal.

Snap,

I never said you were lying, just that ideally, there's no reason to have to buy filler to get a legit coupon used.

I believe what happened to you, but it's alot easier if they just key in the coupon for $1.99 if it beeps than having to buy filler. Perhaps this is a YMMV situation, and it would be so much easier if the sales price was $2 and not $1.99.

Don't be so ticked about the FW attitude at times, deal hunting is a competitive art, but all in all, most people appreciate the effort that goes into it. So please, don't get discouraged, hope you will stick around and post deals. It's always best to just put YMMV in a post so people realize it's particular to your situation.

Mr C

Everyone relax here, it's a freaking deal on ceral for Gods sake! Mister Cheap has been providing MANY quality deals here at FW for a long time and deserves a lot of credit. YMMV for all deals since many of these deals are nationwide and there is NOT ONE store that does everything the same. Thanks though for posting other ideas on how to make the deal work though too in your local instances! All values should be respected for the higher power of deal getting.

Worked for me. Thanks OP

Wow... it seems that someone was purposely marking up posts as negatives, just for the fun of it. Look at all the peeerty red lights!

RadioheadNC, I didn't say I got slick and got it to print an extra coupon, I said I was surprised to see it actually did

Regardless - it's a great deal, and if you don't like the cereal offered and cannot get another kind (for whatever reason), get it anyway and donate it to a homeless shelter. I am sure the kids there wouldn't mind some chocolate cereal

kcliou said: There's no chocolate flavor in my Walgreens. Can I use it on different flavors?

YES, you can use it on many Post cereals including ALL flavors of HBO.
Ignore those who don't know but who post anyway.
Mistercheap you are 100% right about everything. Ignore the dopes and their useless and wrong "guesses".

Yes they are, ALL Post cereals at Walgreens are free with these coupons.

Your entire first paragraph is 100% wrong. No scruples are involved, there is no WRONG cereal. It scans with no help from anyone for ALL the flavors of HBO and many other Post cereals and yes the store gets reimbursed. btw, you just found out how to print 2 coupons?

Not sure in your case, but one time they wouldn't print for me using Firefox and went to the link using Internet Explorer and they printed fine, also didn't work while using a proxy changer.
