WRONG, the key word here is CHOCOLATE, and I've yet to see that variety at any of the Walgreens I've been at so please don't lead Everyone to believe that they can stroll into any Walgreens nationwide and find it sitting on the shelf because that's not the case....

If your lucky enough to have a cashier with little sense then it might be a go but not every cashier dropped out of school a 16 therefore the educated ones probably won't allow the use of this coupon.

Flam away......

I agree. I tried this today and it didn't work. I even bought a filler so the price would be over $2 because some people said it won't work if the coupon is more than the item. Cashier scanned the coupon and never even looked in the bag, where he just put the item I bought, to see what I had bought and said "this (coupn) isn't for any of this".

The OP should have put YMMV in subject line. The reason people are having to get a manual override is not because the item is less than the coupon, it's because the coupon isn't valid for other than the chocolate.

No, stop with this silly YMMV "advice". Every deal involving a retail chain that has thousands of stores is always YMMV because of incompetent cashiers or registers that are not programmed right and many other glitches. . Mistercheap is correct. The manual override is ONLY because of the $1.99 price and a $2 coupon; in stores where the price is above $2 it SCANS so no manual override is needed.

This is how my wife managed to make the coupon work...

Simply buying the $1.99 cereal and handing over a $2.00 coupon at Walgreens does not work. What my wife did was let the cashier scan _TWO_ boxes of cereal and a filler item, and then handed over _ONE_ coupon. The coupon works.

Then, she says to the cashier that she has changed her mind and has the cashier void _ONE_ box of cereal. The cereal is then free and the filler item is reduced by one penny.

In my opinion, the Walgreens deal is not worth the effort. The coupons are better saved to use at stores with $2 prices.

RIP

The coupon works fine on any variety, as many people have reported (this is true for almost all coupons). The issue is with the total price of the cereal purchased vs total coupon value. I tried to buy 3 today. The first two coupons worked fine but the third beeped. The cashier called over an assistant manager and when she read the coupon, of course she saw the chocolate variety and said that was why it did not work. In reality it was because I had exceeded the value and she only noticed the wording on the coupon because it was not being accepted. She would not take the 3rd one and ended up taking the 3rd box off my order but let me keep the other two and accepted the coupons that the register had already taken.

All varieties are $2.24 at my local WalMart. No problem scanning coupon with almond variety. Not free, but 24 cents plus a little tax is worth it.

I just got back from Target and used two of the coupons on a couple PS3 games and it worked just fine for me. Didn't have to buy a filler and the cashier didn't even have to call over a manager. They weren't chocolate-themed games either. Oh, my bad. I must be mixing two posts together.

hey, from day one the title of this thread said CHOCOLATE, if people try to use and succeed on another variety, that is their call and let their conscience be their guide. so please quit crapping up this thread with posts like this.

These are also $2.29 in Meijer and is was a trouble free purchase at U-Scan. If the shelf is empty look on the end caps for them.

I can't believe we have 3 active threads on this cereal deal

I prefer the term "making fun of" as opposed to "crapping up" (since we all know crap goes down). I apologize to all for being the first person not contributing in an intellectual manner to a thread on CEREAL.

LOL, I never said he stops with just uninstalling the coupon printer ex-file. He grumbles about finding "stuff" (not what he calls it) all over the place every time I install the coupon printer - Do I know what he is talking about? Nope, it is like he is speaking greek to me but he keeps our computers running clean!

TommyTuTone said:If there really was spyware in the coupon printer, it is unlikely that uninstalling the coupon printer would remove the spyware.

timecode said:MBZ32190 said:k000 said:Seems like I MUST install their Printer program. Can anyone please comment on the spywareness of thge printer

I haven't had any problems with it...it's simply to prevent coupon abuse as each coupon prints with a unique code. If you are still uneasy, create a system restore point, install coupon software, print coupons, then return to the restore point (this is also a method to print more than 2 coupons/computer)

My hubby hates them because of the spyware issue and removes them after I print my coupons. I'm a computer dummy but he's pretty smart with computers so I trust what he says.

Free at Smiths also.

For those of you like me who were denied the coupon at Walgreens.

Just came back from Smiths today. Had some other shopping to do and took the coupon to use if the price were decent. I found they have this cereal priced at 5 for $10 ($2 each) which makes it free with the coupon.

You can go to the Smiths webpage click on the weekly add, select your store, and see if it is on sale in your neighborhood. I found it on page 4 of the online ad.

Chocolate Honey Bunches are 2.50 with the bonus card at Safeway, so that's another option to get it pretty cheap.

My wife went into Walgreens picked up 4 box's of strawberry and gave the cashier 4 coupons and she on her own knew to key the coupons in manually for $1.99 each. It's amazing how the same chain of stores all do things their own way.

I would never buy this stuff at full price but you can't argue with free / near free.

For those wanting to print more coupons try virtualization (VMWare, Virtual Box, Virtual PC, etc).

On sale right now at GENUARDI'S supermarkets for $2. Perfect price, no scanning issues and they have tons in stock.

Can you use all 6 coupons in oone transaction?

alert mods

Technically, the coupon terms do not state a limit of 1 (or any) per purchase or transaction, so it will depend on the retailer/cashier. To be safe, I would break them up into separate transactions.

At one retailer, the cashier would not even take one due to the price difference (-$0.01 - so we ended up buying 2) and at another store of the same retail chain, the cashier took all 4 at one time without any problems.

So it's really YMMV as far as quantity but the coupons are definitely valid.

That's the regular price at Target for the family size (19oz.).
