I went there for lunch one time with the department. I ordered the Kobe burger and asked for medium rare. the burger was so under cooked I was about to puke. I can eat black and blue but that is like it was just out of the grinder and seared for 30 seconds. The manager was prompt in removing that item from our bill w/o me asking about it. Service is good, food is not... |

I always said that Ruth Chris is the best value for Restaurant week. Even for $89, this is a great value... but this is almost the exact same menu as their lunch restaurant week menu! ($20 for lunch) |

nopurpose said:Why is the name Ruth's Chris?? Was originally called Chris Steak House for a number of years in New Orleans "cannot remember the exact length of time" when it was purchased after a bad fire "as I recall" by Ruth Fertel/Furtel?. When she decided to expand she wanted to change the name from Chris Steak House but due to legal restrictions that were part of the purchase agreement "Chris" had to remain part of the name so she re-named it Ruth's Chris Steak House. I believe it's one of the largest if not the largest high dollar steak house chain in the country with several overseas locations to boot. As I mentioned earlier, back in the good Ole days before I was self employed I frequented several of the locations quite often on a company expense account. |

I love Ruth's Chris but every time I think about getting in on these meals, I end up not. Simply put, their calamari are the best and the kobe Ribeye is to DIE for! I wish they'd have a deal for those but then again, the Kobe Ribeye is already $70. I'd be happy with calamari and the regular ribeye too. Nice deal though OP. I'm planning on making another trip to Ruth's Chris soon. |

But I could get 89 double cheeseburgers! Or 445 nuggets! or better yet learn to grill and save mucho for same quality steak! good steaks, good beer, good friends, beats overplumped dining out experience any day, that is unless you want to put on airs! |

To OP: Thanks for posting, this is a good deal compared to A La Carte. To person who asked what's up with the name. I have no idea but I have a theory. They thought if they gave their restaurant an incredibly obnoxious name, something which doesn't really resemble a name or anything grammatical at all, people would come in and give them huge amounts of money for a steak. It seems to work quite well. Kind of like the "Think Different" campaign by Apple. In this day and age, I guess it goes like this: 1) Create expensive product 2) Advertise, using mangled, obnoxious language 3) Profit! |

problem is you still pay that premium price ?? are fwers so poor that we can't justify a reason to pay for a good dinner? It's not even that expensive compare to French cuisine or fusion cuisine. |

Beware that their well-done steak is more like half-carbonized steak, and medium-well is about very well-done steak. |

The one in Ft. Lauderdale is EXCELLENT. The quality is high and the service is good. I am a Capital Grille fan myself, but would not turn down a night with Ruth ever. No deals for Ft. Lauderdale Bummer. |

jumpfroggy said:Took me a second to realize "bullet" was an actual HTML bullet in the ad, and that there wasn't some kind of strange fresh fillet ny strip steakfish dish. Thanks OP, will pass along to father-in-law who loves ruth's chris. According to him, really good food but really expensive (ala carte). I noticed too. Alt text is supposed to be for search engines, text browsers, and screen readers. They're getting nothing from this. I once ran across a page built in tables with spacer images that all had alt text "Spacer Image." |
