BTW, I guess I wonder what OP means. I have heard it used a lotOP = Original Poster (or sometimes the Original Post). Often used when you can't remember how to spell the name of the Original Poster, or you forgot who it was, or your fingers are sore from typing. |

According to LandOLakes.com Look for LAND O LAKESŪ Butter in half sticks in the following markets: Alabama Connecticut Delaware Florida Georgia Kentucky Maine Maryland Massachusetts Mississippi New Hampshire New Jersey New York North Carolina Pennsylvania Rhode Island South Carolina Tennessee Vermont Virginia West Virginia Not even sold in California, even if the rebate were valid here As for the problem of wrapping a cut stick of butter, I unfold the wrapper from the half I am using and re-fold it to cover the end of the piece left behind.

They have inventions called "the butter dish" now.... I'm sure the reason for the half sticks is the for people like me who just wrap them back up and stick them back in teh box... |

FrugalFreak said:my only question is is the 8 sticks equal in weight to the 4 stick package?? or is this change a clever way for LOL to reduce total weight?
green for the freebie though 4 stick package is one pound, just as the 8 stick package is. Butter sticks are 1/4 pound each, making these eight 1/8 pounds. |

Then the cereal guys with less weight in the same box. I honestly wish they would be up front and just keep things the same size and raise the damn price honestly. I feel like they think we're stupid and won't notice or something. It's really bad with candy, too. Reeses Peanut Butter cups are like half the size they used to be. Worst of all is those damn tasty Peppridge Farm cookies. They shrink every 6 months it seems. I just bought the club size pack of Zest bar soap. It is now sculpted into a funky shape, but there is clearly less soap. I'd say 1/3 less soap. IMO, the funky shape is to try and disguise the shrink, and make it fit inside the regular size boxes.
I think this trend started with ice cream several years ago. It used to be 1/2 gallon, now it is less. |

I think this trend started with ice cream several years ago. It used to be 1/2 gallon, now it is less. I think it goes back farther than that. I'm old enough to remember when a standard size can of coffee was a full pound (16 oz). Then it went to 13 oz. Now its 11 oz. but the can is still about the same size. |

It's intended to be butter, but after the inefficient bureaucrats get around to delivering it, it's cheese. lray said:Isn't that cheese? migv1 said: I believe there are programs to get gobs of it free from the govt. (of course it's always free just before they F you in the A). |

man, it was all good until... uphill both ways? last time i checked if something goes up, it comes down. you probably could have used a garmin gps back then /me stares @ deshwasi for a second before giving him a "Moe" slap aside the head. Or is this an attempt at humor? |

Not if you have the 'forever' stamps. Our POS govt should issue "forever" dollars. |

Did anyone know where I can buy this item in Los angeles or hollywood area. I went to Ralphs near my place and they carry only 4 half sticks. I cannot find 8 half sticks. Let me know which grocery in So.Cal carry it. Thanks. |
