thewayiam said:Maybe it isn't exactly free, but how long has it been since you were able to get a pound of butter for 41 cents? That is just basically a giveaway.
BTW, I guess I wonder what OP means. I have heard it used a lot There was a $0.55 off coupon in the sunday inserts not too long ago.
It expires 5/11/08 and the picture is of the 8 half sticks package. =-=-=

Well, they also have the reward program where you send in UPCs to get stuff - the best things in my opinion being free Fandango movie tickets and Free LOL product coupons. LB |

I'll say it again. What is so hot about this. It's a rebate, not even a coupon.... for a $3 butter. There is a free stuff forum for posts like this. And grocery coupons deals have been around for decades, not to mention that this deal involves a $3 REBATE. If you have free time to send it $3 rebates go ahead. |

where can I find those that are cut into "pats" about 1/40 of a stick ? I'm tired of stealing them from the cafeteria at Belleview Hospital. |

We are still waiting for them to come out with those. Maybe you could figure out how to get a hold of the company and offer them the suggestion |

Just me, I guess - but because I don't receive many personal letters anymore, it makes me happy to go to the mailbox and receive a rebate check. Makes me smile - because coupons and rebates are one of my hobbies. We had Kennedy's Butter and Egg store where I grew up, and those guys were GOOD! They could accurately cut the size butter block, or fill a peanut butter container - just about to the order, just naturally. AHHH, Salem, MA.! |

The world record for butter eating is 7 quarter pound sticks of salted butter in 5 minutes by Donald Lerman. This is a hot deal, as it could lead to a new world record...these have the potential of just being swallowed whole without all that chewing to slow you down. If someone can beat that mark by eating 16 of these little hummers in 5 minutes; I'm sure Land O Lakes would give them the butter for all the publicity and fame it would bring. |

If you are going to be buying butter anyway (and most people will be) Why not spend 35 extra seconds filling out the paper, and 41 cents for the stamp? You are bound to make a trip to the post office anyway and it wouldn't be any more time or effort to drop in 2 letters instead of 1. Nice about the world record. When one of you decide to break it, let us all know so we can be prepared to watch Land O' Lakes become #1 butter seller (and you get all the butter you need, from them, for the rest of time) |

Hilarious! Generally I use margarine (sp?) but some recipes require butter and free is great! Thanks OP! |

Was in the localy wally world (South Charlotte, NC) for $3.85 (IIRC) same price as the 4 sticks version. BUT did not pick it up as this is only available in Slated version. It'd have been good if it were available in the Unsalted kind too. Bleh. |

It'd have been good if it were available in the Unsalted kind too. Bleh.It was $4.49 here in NJ (so it will actually cost 10 cents plus mailing supplies, since the rebate is up to $4.39). I prefer the unsalted too, but it looks like it's only available in salted (the rebate form lists a very specific UPC, so it will only work for that one, which is salted). BTW, for those using this in baking, you might want to reduce the salt in the recipe slightly to account for the salt in the butter. Some things will come out tasting overly salty if using both the recommended amount of salt and salted butter. (I usually use very little salt in my cooking/baking, so even a little too much can taste excessive to me). |

Found this in Kroger and Food Lion here. Kroger charged $3.69, and Food Lion charged $3.49. I would not pay extra for this item. I like L-O-L, but given a choice between that brand and store brand, if the store brand is cheaper, that's what I buy. |
